(Lebanon) U.N. warns aid supply could be cut off because of...bombing...
Full title: U.N. warns aid supply could be cut off because of overnight bombing in northern Lebanon

From AP via The Hindu, emphasis mine:

Israel's heavy overnight bombing of Beirut's main access road to the north has severed the last major overland route to bring relief supplies into Lebanon, international aid agencies said on Friday.

"This is Lebanon's umbilical cord," Christiane Berthiaume of the World Food Program told The Associated Press. "This (road) has been the only way for us to bring in aid. We really need to find other ways to bring relief in."

Three bridges along the Mediterranean coast road from Arida on the northern border with Syria to the Lebanese capital were destroyed, said Berthiaume. WFP is coordinating United Nations relief efforts in the country.

A convoy that was meant to carry supplies and emergency personnel to Beirut on Friday is now stuck in Arida, she said, and U.N. teams have so far been refused permission to assess the damage caused by the bombing.

From indications on Ha'Aretz's flash news this story appears to be less than 3 hours old.

4. I do but this is the problem
So many Am. think that any problem can be fixed with a few bombs. Course we have been building a military my whole life so I guess it is a reasonable way for them to think. I think it will not work and I was right about Iraq and I think I am right now. This will not get the people in Israel what they hope for and will just make every thing worse. Plus it will blow back into our face and theirs.

5. I so agree with you. The Israelis will now just be surounded by more
hatred. But some of the people there have an expansionist vision of extending the boundaries of Israel from the Nile to the Tigres -Euphrates Rivers. For them ist is not about safety but about regional dominance. That kind of quest for empire is irrational and dangerous, just as is the Bush desire to dominate the world. I think that both this country and Israel will suffer greatly as a result of our war crimes.

6. I know you will laugh at me as I am a bug on this
A lot of it has to do with water. The wars for water are going to make the oil wars look like sand box play. It is under the radar world wide but it is coming. Now look what Saudi is doing with its money from oil it is building ways to get water. Israel took land with water. Through out our West and into the South it is making more and more trouble. Maine is having trouble with underground water levels and they think it is because a Fr. Co, is pumping the underground veins dry to sell bottle water. To bad if the home owners well go dry. No one wants to study it yet because of the jobs and money it brings to the state. It is all sort of sitting and waiting. We may want oil right now but the control of water by big corp owned by the West is moving into the center of this fight. Israel has of course seen this. Iraq has it all. Oil and water.

3. So I guess that is why Israel
attacked a Hezbollah convoy of 'fruit trucks' -- terrorists eat food, without food they will eventually cease their attacks on the good people of Israel

Israeli air raid kills 27 civilians in Lebanon

Casualties were ferried to nearby Syria after the raid near Qaa in the Bekaa Valley. Bombs hit a depot where farm workers, many of them Syrian Kurds, were loading fruit onto trucks, security sources said. About 10 people were also wounded.

Earlier Israeli jets destroyed four bridges on the main coastal highway north of Beirut, disrupting efforts to aid civilians displaced or trapped by the conflict in Lebanon.

Vietnam News
One of many and since we never hear from Vietnam...I figured their Reuters report is just as good as the next one.
