Most opposed to new nuclear weapons (UK poll)

Most people in Britain oppose the replacement of the Trident nuclear weapons system, a new report has shown.

A survey of 1,000 adults for CND revealed that almost two out of three are against a new generation of nuclear missiles.

CND said the result showed a 5% increase in public opposition to Trident replacement from a similar poll almost a year ago.

The findings were published ahead of a 50,000-strong petition being handed in to 10 Downing Street as part of a campaign against Britain developing new nuclear weapons ...
