Israel says killed senior Hizbollah commander

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Israeli troops on Tuesday killed a senior Hizbollah commander in fighting near the Lebanese border, the army said.

The army identified the man as Abu Jaafar and said he was the commander of Hizbollah's "central sector" on the Lebanese border withIsrael.

The army said he was killed in an exchange of fire with Israeli troops near the Lebanese border village of Maroun al-Ras.

2. Oh great,. I guess the killing will stop now, eh?

NOT. Israel appears to be losing this war. It appears ready to employ outside help, after all those brutalizing deaths of innocent babies and chuildren. And the solution? Kill more of them, that oughta stop it. Send Condi Rice, grinning as if she was the "it girl", to promote the political advantages to Bush, by chastising the Lebanese, and insisting they follow the DC Bush fascist notions that they are wrong and Israel is right--it is only defending itself and that is it's right---it's right to kill children and babies that is.

There is a great backlash against Israel's tactics. It will be billed as "anti-semitic" but you know those of us who know we are not anti-semitic smell a rat with that accusation. It is simply being used to foster up guilt left over from the WWII. Israel is wrong in it's approach with this horrific bombing and killing of children and civilians and it's use of phosperous bombs-- and, ironically, it is losing this initiative. It now seeks to bring in outsiders to finish the battle? After killing children and all the other atrocities it has unleashed on Lebanaon.

Israel lost. This notion of bombing ten of Lebanese structures to avenge the bombing of one of our structures, is being seen as nothing more than reptillian brain, brainless and vengeful , a vengeance that accomplishes NOTHING AND cannot accomplish anything in spite of the billions of dollars we as taxpayers give to Israel in order that it may kill babies and children to avenge the capture of two of it's MILITARY personnel by the enemy.

I resent that.

They were captured in a confrontation between two military forces--and for this humiliation and embarrassment, fifty or more babies and children must be slaughtered? Before they had a chance to live and they did NOT decided where they were to be born.

I mean where on earth is this mind set coming from?

Indeed there is a backlash. It is the fault of the overreactive, reptillian brained, Israel.

8. Right on
More crimes Israeli committed against civilians, the more motivated the opposition will be.

I can't believe the new leader of Israel is more idiotic than Sharon.

Shame on him.

4. Sharon died (well, he is as good as dead)
But the Israeli government kept going. Hezbollah, indeed most groups, are no different. There are always others that will step into the vacant position.

9. Good.
It's nice to see them kill an enemy now and again as they slaughter civilians.

I hope this makes the conflict closer to being over....
