Request for Mass Latest Twist in Coingate Scandal
COLUMBUS (AP) -- A broker charged with bribing a former state workers' compensation official sent the man a card informing him that a Roman Catholic Mass had been arranged in his honor, The Columbus Dispatch reported Tuesday. Federal prosecutors dispute Michael Lewis' claim that he arranged the Mass for Terrence Gasper, the former chief financial officer at the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation, because he wanted to help a friend.

1. Hope he has to deal with this bad idea in court.
From the article:
Prosecutors said that by sending the card on June 23, Lewis may have violated the condition of his bond that he have no contact with potential witnesses in his case, which is scheduled for trial August 28.

Prosecutors have requested a hearing on the matter in U.S. District Court in Akron. A hearing date has not been set.

"The card is a poorly veiled and intentionally ambiguous attempt to intimidate Gasper and, thereby, influence any testimony he may give regarding Lewis at trial," prosecutors wrote in a notice to the court.

I'm "praying" they convict all the criminals connected to this Republican exhibition.

3. Is there any thing sacred that the
Repukes can't piss on?

OH Repuke: "Hey man, you want that sweet contract for running the state employees pension fund?"
OH Repuke contributor: "Hell yeah man, what's it going to cost me?"
OH Repuke: "How about $100,000"?
OH Repuke contributor: "That's too much. How about $80,000 and I'll throw in a Catholic Mass in your honor"
OH Repuke: "Sweet, but can we get it scheduled for Holy Name Church? That's right next to my mistress' house".

How very Xtian of them.
