Explosion rocks Idaho Indian casino

WORLEY, Idaho --An explosion rocked the Coeur d'Alene Indian Tribe's casino on Thursday, a tribal spokeswoman said.

There was no word on injuries or extent of damages at the casino, about 35 miles southeast of Spokane, Wash.

"All we have been told from the casino is that there was an explosion," said spokeswoman Margaret SiJohn. "We're not sure yet."

The fireworks stand was several miles away from the explosion... AND it did not explode. They are still in business today.

WORLEY, Idaho (AP) - A large cargo container used for storage caught fire and
caused an explosion Thursday behind the Coeur d'Alene Indian Tribe's casino,
killing two casino workers who were inside the unit, a sheriff's spokesman said.

Kootenai County sheriff's spokesman Ben Wolfinger said the victims were employees
of the Coeur d'Alene Tribal Bingo Casino, but he did not release their identities.

The exact cause of their deaths was unclear.

Police Chief Keith Hutcheson would not comment on what was stored in the container
or what caused the fire, but said it did not appear to be arson.

9. Unbelievable!

An explosion occurs and kills two employees while simply doing their job and all you can do is mock and make fun. These were two men with families - wives, children, siblings and parents. They get up and go to work each day; they return to their families after work. This is the American Way... this is what makes America better than other countries.

One of the men was my brother. His passion was music - from rock to country. He played guitar and sang. He worked hard and he played hard. He was the epitome of what we do here in the US. You make me embarrassed to be part of the Democratic Party.

At the time of the explosion they were setting up the casino fireworks display - something they have done for the last 5 years or so. People all over the Inland Northwest would come to watch the 4th of July fireworks display - another American pastime. At this time the FBI nor the ATF have found the actual cause of the explosion. And don't be trite and start rumors of cigarettes, matches, cell phones, and other idiot suppositions. Neither smoked nor carried cell phones at work. This was a tragic accident - let's let the professionals do their job.

When death is involved one shouldn't jump to conclusions - not in a outlet such as this. If we're talking someone holding a bottle-rocket in their teeth and losing part of their face or hands - then we can laugh and yell 'Stupid'.

17. I don't laugh and crack jokes when I hear about an explosion

When I was a kid, a neighbor girl was seriously injured by a malfunctioning firework. Don't think it's anything to laugh about,
and was shocked to read this stuff, even if we didn't have all of the
information.
