N.Korea May Have Second Nuclear Site -US Officials
Reuters story here.
<snip>
WACO, Texas (Reuters) - North Korea (news - web sites) may have built a second, secret facility for producing weapons-grade plutonium as part of efforts to enlarge its nuclear arsenal, U.S. officials said on Saturday.

The disclosure, first reported by The New York Times and confirmed by U.S. officials in Washington, could lead to an escalation in the festering diplomatic showdown between North Korea and the United States over Pyongyang's atomic weapons program.

White House officials, while not confirming the report, insisted that Washington would continue to work with its allies in the region to press Pyongyang to reverse course.

"We do not discuss intelligence matters so I'm not going to get into specifics about the report," White House spokesman Scott McClellan told reporters traveling with President Bush (news - web sites) in Texas.

Boy, it just gets better and better...

1. Who would have known,
it turns out that acting like an internation bully is NOT a deterrent for an arms race.

Deep down, you know BushCo wants this. It's simply convenient for them to have an enemy like this. And if things go wrong, well, it turns out the Administrations does have some nice fallout shelters, so not everythign is lost.

2. Personally, I think they're ACCELERATING the arms race.
If I were a 'rogue' state, I'd be trying to grab all the nukes I could. What they're learning from the Iraq/NK situation is that if you have nukes, the US won't come after you. Just like any garden-variety bully, we only beat up on the weak.

3. Funny how
now that Bushco is taking a little flak, NK is getting a lotta love from media. Not that it is not an issue but it makes you go hmmmmmm....

4. Kick
I think this is more important than just about any other story out there. If this president, through his negligence, allows NK to threaten (or, god forbid, attack) South Korea, Japan, China or even the US with Nukes, he will go down in history as the worst president ever--personally, I think he's already well on his way.

5. Yes, they may have, yet
...they may have not. We won't go into specifics. Because it may sound too ludicrous or be dissected before our announcement serves the desired political purpose...

7. More lies and exaggerations.
Heck, Uncle Pinkie told me N.K. has WMDs laying all over the place and kids are eating them like candy. What he knows is darn good.
