BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - A mortar shell hit one of Baghdad's oldest markets on Saturday,
killing at least four people and wounding 13, police said.
The attack caused a fire at the popular Isterbadi market in the predominantly Shiite
northern suburb of Kazimiyah, police Capt. Mohammed al-Waili said.
In central Baghdad, a bomb left in a plastic bag killed two people and wounded 24
at an outdoor market specializing in secondhand goods, police Lt. Ahmed Mohamed Ali said.
A roadside bomb aimed at a police patrol in downtown Baghdad missed its target, killing
one civilian and wounding two, police Col. Abbas Mohammed said.
