Am. Family Association targets EPA over Gay Pride sponsorship
http://www.sovo.com/thelatest/thelatest.cfm?blog_id=7504

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency refused to back down from its decision to sponsor several Gay Pride events this month after it received more than 800,000 e-mails and thousands of phone calls denouncing its involvement in the events from supporters of a conservative political group.

Kirk Marusak, the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual & Transgender coordinator at EPA for the American Federation of Government Employees, said EPA officials informed him that a deluge of phone calls triggered by an "action alert" from the anti-gay American Family Association temporarily disabled the phone system at the agency's Office of Civil Rights.

The e-mails flooded the offices of several EPA divisions, including the civil rights unit, which issued an announcement in May recognizing June as Gay & Lesbian Pride Month at EPA.

"We're moving ahead with these events as planned," said EPA spokesperson Bob Zachariasiewicz. "There are no plans to change anything."

1. I'm on the AFA mailing list, for kicks...
and ALL they talk about is gay this and gay that, and I'd say a good 75% of their emails denounce Ford Motor Co in some way or other

I am convinced that Dobson is not only a self-loathing gay man, but also has money tied up in one of Ford's competitors

What always amuses me about their email alerts, is if there is for example a scene w/2 women kissing on tv, they'll email an alert asking members to voice their disgust to whichever network showed it. Then, they ALWAYS include a video clip of the 'offending' scene :)

4. Isn't Dobson from Focus on the Family?
not that it matters, all these groups are the same. I think they talk more about homosexuality and sexual orientation than any member of CodePink or Act Up.

3. Interesting that it is the EPA they are targetting
a "liberal" "pro-environmental" agency, as opposed to say the SEC

9. 800,000 e-mails.
No doubt from the same person who sent millions of complaints to the FCC over Janet Jackson's tit.
