Abu al-Masri Claims Al Qaeda Throne in Sign of Power Struggle
Edited on Wed Jun-14-06 04:19 PM by ECH1969
An Egyptian associate of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi claims to have succeeded him as the new leader of Al Qaeda in Iraq, even though an Islamic Web site said Monday that another man was in power.

Brig. Gen. Carter Ham said at a Pentagon news conference on Wednesday that Abu al-Masri, whose name surfaced shortly after reports of Zarqawi's death became widespread as a successor, had claimed to be in charge of Al Qaeda in Iraq.

"There is an individual who has claimed to be the successor to Zarqawi in Iraq," Ham said. "We have a variety of intelligence capabilities that will try to determine if there is an individual or individuals who are trying to step forward or exercise control."

An Islamic Web site Monday said a man named Abu Hamza al-Muhajer had been named to replace Zarqawi.

3. "Throne"? Pshh. It's not even Al-Qaida, it's just
a gangster organization trying to make themselves look powerful. And there goes the government, playing right into it. Overthrowing a dictator to stop terrorism and then killing some of the terrorists who are now killing people without the dictator to stop them... Jesus Christ, words cannt express what horrible logic this is.

4. Let me ask this again, slowly. Why must there be a leader?
Oh, FOX. Reminds me of the trouble some groups have gotten into (like some Indian nations) for not having any 1 Leader.

13. Propaganda must be carefully timed.
a. The communication must reach the audience ahead of competing propaganda.
b. A propaganda campaign must begin at the optimum moment
c. A propaganda theme must be repeated, but not beyond some point of diminishing effectiveness

Why the hell does Iraq get a special al-Qaeda name?

What about al-Qaeda in Afghanistan? They might be jealous.

I see it's time to close my al-Zarqawi propaganda folder and open one for the new boogeyman.
