Andrew Denton has admitted to being nervous as he puts the finishing touches to his first documentary film, which premieres at the Sydney Film Festival this week.

The television presenter has been working hard to finish God On My Side, before tomorrow's world premiere at the State Theatre.

Denton shot the 72-minute documentary in February, travelling to Texas in the United States, and has spent the past few months in post-production.

The film was shot at America's annual National Religious Broadcasters' Convention.
