Reed, Graham: U.S. credibility at issue
U.S. Sens. Jack Reed, D-R.I., and Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said during a TV interview Sunday the United States needs to restore its credibility in Iraq.

Reed said on "Fox News Sunday" that recent allegations that some U.S. Marines killed unarmed civilians in an apparent act of revenge, "vastly complicates our mission in Iraq."

Graham said on the same show that if the allegations are true, those responsible "will be severely dealt with."

Reed called the incident a sign that the United States needs to speed up the process of troop withdrawal, especially from Iraq's most hostile areas.

2. The most important thing is our "credibility," not whether we're blatant
murderers.

This is the mentality of the superpowerful.

3. The world doesn't care. Especially countries like India and China.
They've got our business and our infrastructure. The day they close their doors will only be good news as Americans will realize they shouldn't be so mean toward each other, get back together as a community, and put America back on the map and reclaim technological supremacy.

4. Not just credibility but US morality too is at stake. We have not only
lost this war, we have lost our soul.

Katie Couric, and others there to help convince them.

7. It ain't the 'allegations' that complicate our
"mission in Iraq!" Friggin idiots, it's the DEED!

How in the hell do these mental and moral midgets manage to get dressed in the mornings?

These poor people are so overwhelmed by the overuse and contempt from up-the-line that even the sanest among them, no doubt, is jumping at shadows and having trouble with reality. Immensely saddening.

...or they're just spewing bullshit for home consumption. The news of full of stories in which Iraqis claim that Haditha style killings are common and frequent. The "mission" is already shot to hell if that's what "complicates" it. And what IS the mission, BTW. I wish someone would articulate just what "the mission" is in real terms, without the jingoism.

11. Lindsey dahling, you can probably get some fresh credibility
at Walmart, too bad if it's manufactured in China though, dems the breaks as they say. Your credibility dear boy was shot to sh*t when you stole the last election.... pretty much like the first one.

13. To restore U.S. credibility anywhere in the world, ....
the Bushista administration needs to come to an end -- that could be by impeachment, or the minimum wait for credibility will last beyond January 2008.

19. Restore credibility?
How does one restore credibility about something that was a lie from the start?

The United States will never restore credibility on Iraq because it never had any. It will forever be a shameful chapter. There's nothing that can undo that.
