Inflation fears send U.S. stocks down

The Labor Department said April's core consumer price index was up 0.3 percent for the second time in a row.

The benchmark 10-year Treasury lost 18/32, or $5.63 for each $1,000 invested, to lift the yield to 5.175 percent
