Militants Kill 18 in Baghdad Parking Lot

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Militants raided a parking lot in a predominantly Shiite neighborhood
of Baghdad on Tuesday, killing 18 people with gunfire and a car bomb, police said.

Gunmen first shot five guards who were looking after the open-air lot that served as
a parking area and small market in the Shaab neighborhood, a commercial district
in northeastern Baghdad, police Capt. Ali al-Obeidi said.

As bystanders rushed to the scene, a car bomb detonated next to an oil tanker, which also
exploded and engulfed the area in a fireball. AP Television News video showed the remains
of a car bomb and sandals and clothes of the many dead and wounded.

4. That definition doesn't seperate fighters very well

The armed groups are quite diverse in Iraq from the religious Shia who want Shia Islamic rule, to the Sunnis that want Sunni rule, to the foreigners that want to carve up Iraq.

The one thing they all have in common is that they want the US out and the Iraqi government to collapse.

they barely even care when Murkin troops get killed, as long as its in dribs & drabs.
