WASHINGTON - President Bush will travel to Vienna on June 21 for the annual U.S.- European Union summit, the White House announced.

The trip will give Bush a chance to discuss trans-Atlantic ties with the presidents of the European Council and European Commission.

In announcing the trip on Wednesday, White House press secretary Scott McClellan said the president and EU leaders will discuss various global issues including preventing nuclear proliferation, combating terrorist financing, assisting reconstruction in Iraq, promoting peace and democracy in Europe and beyond, reducing trade barriers and energy security.
