(Michigan) Governor's race a dead heat
Nearly seven months before you cast your vote, the race for governor is a dead heat. That is according to the latest Epic MRA poll.

All along, many observers believed this would shape up as a competitive race. So, is it a surprise it is so close so soon?

Maybe. Maybe not.

The numbers tell the story of the latest poll. Epic MRA, the long-time polling firm from Lansing, asked 600 people who they would vote for in the governor election in November. Forty three percent say Governor Granholm, while 43 percent say Dick DeVos.

Folks, this guy was head of Amway, where he cut Michigan jobs and instead chose to invest in China. He's not your typical Republican - he's worse. Read more at the link in my sig line.

1. I live in MI
Typical Republican crap. John Engler bankrupted the state by cutting ptoperty taxes and telling schools to "figure it out." When Grandholm came in as Gov the state was broke, and the Big Three were bleeding like crazy, getting their asses kicked, and outsourcing jobs to Mexico.

Now Devos compolains about it like Engler didn't create it five years ago. He's spending 10s of millions of his own money - why?

2. DeVos is a complete lunatic.
He's just about as bad as it can get.

I hope Jennifer Granholm can get something going on this.
There's plenty of time, but this race needs to be watched closely.

Michigander DUers need to throw their support behind Granholm.

4. Bullshit...DeVos is spending Daddy's money early taking credit
for new hotels and a conference center and college buildings and new medical facilities in the town of Grand Rapids. ANYBODY and I mean ANYBODY who has lived here for any length of time knows his claims are ridiculous.

Daddy and Daddy's pyramid scheme soap partner donated to GR, not this lightweight.

6. Personally, I think a LOT of polls are being manipulated
to SHOW a 50-50 split EVERYWHERE..

There's money to be made by having people THINK we are 50-50.. a few points here and there will ALWAYS decide races when polls are skewed.. and it makes for easier manipulation of the actual votes, if people "think" it was close all along..

7. Concur. Rs are advertising, Ds are not, and it's 43% 43%.
The Rs are doing all the advertising, and the MSM is giving the Rs all the spin that fits in.

There may be a worthy battle, but a lot of money will have to be spent-- mostly by Rs.

12. Very cultish!
I had two friends that got into it and one old boss who did it as a sideline. Its very creepy to see what it can do to people you knew so well. Both friends found their way out and we just don't talk about it any more. God knows what happened to the old boss...

9. Get out the word that Devos prefers Chinese workers to American workers
He prefers to pay .50/hour to some 12-year-old Chinese kid who's stuck in a sweatshop for 12 hours a day.

11. Granholm is ahead by 10 points. This race is not close.
Bush will drag down every Republican running in the blue states. I don't take the corporate media polls seriously.

13. You do so at your own peril.
I always maintain that all politics is local.

You'll be surprised in local races how successful Republicans will be in pivoting away from Bush and his mess.
