US-led forces must stay 3-5 more years: Iraqi general
KIRKUK, Iraq (AFP) - US-led coalition forces need to stay put in Iraq for another three to five years to secure the insurgency-wracked country's stability and stave off ethnic tensions, an Iraqi general said.

"If they leave, I am sure there would be a disaster," Major General Anwar Hamad Amin, commander of the second brigade, 4th Iraqi army division, told AFP on Monday.

"They need to stay another three to five years to ensure stability," said the general who heads the Iraqi army in the ethnically-mixed northern oil city of Kirkuk.

US commanders in the area, viewing the five-year time scale as too long, describe Amin's Iraqi army brigade as a good fighting force that has already conducted two brigade level operations with minimal US assistance.

"Operationally they are ready," said Lieutenant Colonel Robert Benjamin, deputy commander of a brigade combat team of the 101st Airborne Division in Kirkuk who works closely with the Iraqi general.

1. It sounds like the US military brass wants out of Iraq now.
The Iraqi General is probably a receipient of some of the hundreds of billions IN CASH that went missing in Iraq which Galloway said the US didn't count the money or even weigh it before sending in bush's little party present.

Rep. Louise Slaughter has a petition to create a Truman Commission to investigate this missing billions of taxpayer money as well as fraud and corruption of war profiteers.
