Iran says to give "good news" on atomic progress
Edited on Mon Apr-10-06 10:10 PM by ECH1969
Iran's president on Monday promised "good news" within days about the country's nuclear programme.

"I will give you, the Iranian nation, good nuclear news during the time I am in Mashhad," President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said in the northeastern city, where newspapers said he was expected to spend around five days.

"Our enemies know that they are not able to inflict the slightest harm on our nation," he said in the address which was broadcast live on television.

An announcement this week may coincide with a planned visit to Iran by Mohamed ElBaradei, head of the U.N. nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency, for talks that diplomats at the IAEA in Vienna said were likely to be held on Thursday.

1. Good.
If they're enriching uranium now then they can prove that it's for civilian purpose.

Or not, which would be troubling but I do not believe they would attack Israel as the Bush narrative implies.

I thought he was alarmingly smug when I saw him interviewed for one of the "news magazine" programs. Watching it, I was convinced he had some sort of ace to play.

He has this weird and frightening overconfidence. I've seen it in every one of his appearances.

And the Ukraine still has not accounted for at least 250 nukes that were supposed to be sent back to Russia.

If Iran does have them, then the chess game will change dramatically!!!!

11. Ahmadinejad: Tomorrow night, Iranians would be delighted hearing good news
President Ahmadinejad said, "Despite being faced with sanctions for 27 years, restrictions, economic and propagation pressure, the Iranians have now achieved success in the field of basic cells, aerospace engineering, and producing nuclear energy."

He added, "Our enemies suddenly opened their eyes and noticed that we had achieved those high peaks of sciences and technology.

"Today, some countries have not only deviated from peaceful purposes in the field of nuclear energy, but also manufactured the nuclear bomb, and that is no place for concern for the superpowers." President Ahmadinejad said, "When a nation wishes to gain its rights the key word to its success is resistance and achieving divine ideals is impossible without tolerating hardships, being faced with pressure, and confrontation with lots of plots."

Praising the martyrs and the war disabled veterans, he said, "This government is determined not to chant any slogans without making sure that the vowed promises would be kept," adding, "I hope in my next visit of this province the employment, housing and medical problems of the martyrs and war disabled veterans' families would be fully solved."

12. This could be BAD news!
It is expected that Iran will announce they are now enriching uranium.

That has already been declared verboten by Israel and the United States. It is a "rad line" action which can be construed as a casus belli (case for war).

Dismiss Sy Hersh at your peril! :scared:

13. Possible Symbolism...
Tomorrow, is April 11th in the common calendar. Whether or not Iran employs the Western calendar is irrelevent, this is a message for the West.

April 11th in the US is 4-11. 4-1-1 is for directory assistance, i.e. information.

Iran might be symbolically 'informing' the US in general and the mis-administration in particular that it is not to be messed with.

Thoughts, anyone?

President says "good" nuclear news to be released soon

Tehran, April 10, IRNA

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said here Monday that good news would soon be released on Iran's nuclear case. President Ahmadinejad made the disclosure while talking to reporters on the sidelines of the 7th martyrdom anniversary of the late deputy chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces Major- General Ali Sayyad Shirazi. Sayyad Shirazi was shot dead by a member of the notorious terrorist Mujahideen Khalq Organization (MKO) in April 1999.

N. Korea is far more dangerous. But the #1 threat is a nuclear Pakistan. The possibilities for disaster there chill me.
