Insurgents Blow Up Small Shiite Mosque

By VANESSA ARRINGTON, Associated Press Writer 9 minutes ago

BAGHDAD, Iraq - Insurgents blew up a small Shiite mosque northeast of Baghdad on Sunday, while police reported the discovery of nearly 40 bodies in several neighborhoods of the Iraqi capital. The U.S. military reported the death of three American soldiers.

The status of the crew of a U.S. helicopter that crashed Saturday southwest of Baghdad remained unclear.

The violence came as Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw made a surprise visit to press Iraqi politicians to speed up the formation of the government.

.....Two American soldiers were killed by a roadside bomb while on patrol in central Baghdad late Saturday, the U.S. military said. Another soldier from the 101st Airborne Division died Thursday from non-battle related injuries suffered in northern Iraq. No names were released.

The bodies found in Bagdad were all handcuffed and had been shot in the head or chest, said police Maj. Falah al-Mohammedawi. They apparently were victims of revenge killings between Sunni and Shiite Muslims.

Also Sunday, six insurgents died while manufacturing a homemade bomb inside a house in Madain, about 14 miles southeast of Baghdad, police said.

Two American soldiers were killed by a roadside bomb while on patrol in central Baghdad late Saturday, the U.S. military said. Another soldier from the 101st Airborne Division died Thursday from non-battle related injuries suffered in northern Iraq. No names were released.

Elsewhere, the U.S. military also said joint U.S.-Iraqi troops killed four insurgents and wounded another Saturday after two failed attacks near Balad, 50 miles north of Baghdad.

4. does it seem to anyone else that they (the media) have begun
identifying the word "insurgent" with Sunni?

Thus, if that is the case, the military is also targeting Sunni-Iraqis, together with the Shiite led so-called Iraqi government.

Man, oh, man, this whole fiasco just keeps becoming a larger mess.

:(

12. Throw three more on to the stack!

Grass Bush

Pile the bodies high in Austerlitz and Waterloo Iraq
Shovel them under and let me work--
I am the grass; bush; I cover all.

And pile them high in Gettyburg Baghdad
And pile them high in Ypres and Vedum Mossoul and Al Fallaujah

Two years, ten years, and passengers ask the conductor:
What place is this?

I am the grass bush.
Let me work.

8. MSNBC just said on breaking news that the chopper was shotdown
it was not mechanical failure and that the crew is feared dead.

This has the smell of a coverup! Are they saying that a surface to air missile destroyed the chopper and that there are no bodies?

9. SOMETHING ABOUT THIS SMELLS
In the past they always said 2 or 3 or how many ever were dead.

This time there is nothing except we are notifying the families.

Its either very bad or they are trying a new tack to

6. Still no word on the chopper crew?
Are they dust on the ground or is it that they cannot be found (POW/MIA)?
