Strong earthquake jolts Tokyo area

Mar 28, 2006 — TOKYO (Reuters) - A strong earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.0
jolted the Tokyo area on Tuesday evening, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage and no tsunami warning was issued.

The quake, which struck at 10:33 p.m., was felt most strongly north of the capital.

The epicenter of the tremor was about 410 km (255 miles) below the seabed in the Pacific Ocean
south of Japan's main island of Honshu, the agency said.

2. After large jolts
I always keep an eye on the seismic maps and an ear to the ground (so to speak) in listening for news about what seem to be follow-up quakes in other parts of the world. Am not a seismologist by any stretch of the imagination, but seems there are connections to one earth stress affecting another stress point on our globe.

3. That's a basic part of tectonic theory, yeah.
It's interconnected, just not in perfectly symmetrical ways (or we wouldn't have earthquakes to begin with, really).
