SALEM (AP) - Former Salem Republican Rep. Dan Doyle has been released from the Marion County jail after serving about half of a 10-month sentence.
The 48-year-old pleaded guilty last year to falsifying campaign finance reports in the 2002 and 2004 elections.

Sheriff's spokesman Kevin Rau told The Statesman-Journal that Doyle was released early to make way for other inmates who committed crimes that involved harm to individuals.

Doyle became co-chairman of the Oregon Legislature's joint budget committee in January 2005.
