Dayton Daily News

DAYTON | Managers of the Dayton Daily News have received more than 900 e-mails from fans of Fox News talk show host Bill O'Reilly after Reilly's Web site and television program slammed the paper for an editorial that he says makes it "the most friendly (newspaper) to child rapists" in America.

The Dayton Daily News editorial, which ran Sunday, cautioned against those who have called for removing Judge John Connor of Franklin County Common Pleas Court, without a formal complaint or investigation, after Connor gave probation and house arrest instead of prison to a man convicted of repeatedly raping two boys...

"We never defended Judge Connor's decision to sentence a child molester to a year of house arrest and five years' probation," Bruce said Tuesday in a prepared statement. "What we said is that if the judge deserves to be removed from office, then due process should be followed – the same sort of due process that Bill O'Reilly relied upon when he was sued (for sexual harassment) and, ultimately, settled out of court."...

"They say only two things happen when you wrestle a pig: You get muddy and the pig enjoys it. So it's tempting to just let this pass, but, really, what O'Reilly has said on his Web site is so outrageous and such a distortion that I can't...

(looks like this sex offender,much like offensive O'Reilly,is a Republican-

...In an odd twist, the sex offender, Andrew Selva, has contributed thousands to those same politicians’ campaigns, according to state records. Selva gave $1,000 to Taft in 1997. In 2001 and 2002, Selva gave $2,250 to Petro, who has given the money to charity. Selva gave $1,825 to Montgomery in 1994.

11. This is outrageous
If any paper in the land is most unfriendly to judges who are allegedly soft on criminals, it's the DDN. I grew up reading this paper and I can say categorically that O'Lielly and his assertions that they are "friendly to child rapists" is utter crap; I believe that it is as Bruce says it is. O'Falafel's producer threatened this kind of attack because they dared to mention his little legal "problem" and the idea that readers might just think about that when passing judgment on a judge, for O'Blowhard really did dodge a bullet when his victim agreed to settle. Imagine if that case had gone to trial. While it would have been oodles of fun for us, it would have put him in a most uncomfortable spotlight, especially since she had tapes of him saying all that stuff. As always, the public gets half the story from O'Bully, and if they don't go any further, they end up being deceived. I just wish I could understand why anyone still watches or listens to this talking giant steaming pile of excrement.

3. O'Liely tried to get a Democrat DA removed from office in Atlanta
Edited on Tue Mar-21-06 01:15 PM by CottonBear
which is a blue city. It seems to be part of the GOP plan. Right now, the conservatives in my area are trying to run my (Democratic) DA out of office. They constantly run articles about how awful he is (personally) and how no one wants to work with him. The GOP can't actually assail his prosecutions so they attack him personally. It's sick. :grr:

AP Bureau chief of Vermont - Ousted!
I know this man and he is as true as they come - a real journalist with integrity.

Graff gone from Vt. AP

March 21, 2006

By Darren M. Allen Vermont Press Bureau

MONTPELIER — One of the most venerable and well-known bylines in Vermont journalism departed Monday with the ending of Christopher Graff's tenure as head of the state's Associated Press bureau.

The reasons for his sudden exit Monday were not released by Larry Laughlin, the chief of the AP's bureau in Concord, N.H., and Graff's boss.

<snip>

Graff, whose byline has appeared over some of the state's biggest stories in the past quarter-century, also did not comment on why he has left the bureau. Reached by telephone at his Elm Street home in Montpelier, Graff said that he was shocked and still digesting the news.

"I'm trying to figure it out myself," he said.

Considered one of the deans of the Vermont press corps, Graff had been with AP since 1978 and had been Vermont bureau chief since 1980. In his 25 years at the helm of one of the state's most influential news gathering operations, Graff interviewed and wrote about practically every person in any position of power in Vermont.

<snip>

John Mitchell, publisher of the Rutland Herald and the Barre-Montpelier Times Argus, also was caught by surprise Monday morning. Even though he is a member of the AP board of directors, Mitchell said he had no advance word about Graff's departure.

<and one last snippet>

....during the controversy surrounding Chittenden Superior Court Judge Edward Cashman and his sentencing of a child sexual offender.

Graff wrote a story based on the actual sentencing transcript that fueled the ire of Fox News talk show host Bill O'Reilly for several days.

OK - come on folks, Chris didn't know, the board of directors didn't know, only his 'boss' in NH seemed to know anything about it. This is a political dumping of THE most respected journalist in the state. The governor (an 'R') can't even figure out why (or condone it). This is truely a shame and now I hope he's goes national.

That pile of feces regularly gets his pinhead followers to harass people.

And he's the one who sends "fox security" to "people's homes".
