Bush Says Republicans Don't Fear Future
Bush Says Republicans Do Not Fear the Future at Fundraising Dinner; Party Takes in $8 Million

WASHINGTON Mar 16, 2006 (AP)— President Bush delivered a partisan pep talk Thursday night to Republicans who may be jittery about midterm elections while his approval rating is at an all-time low.

"We don't fear the future," Bush told donors who contributed $8 million Thursday night to support Republican House candidates. "We welcome it."

Bush repeated a version of the no-fear refrain three times during a 24-minute speech to the National Republican Congressional Committee's fundraising dinner. He thanked Republican lawmakers for supporting the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and said it's important that they stay in control of Congress to pass greater tax cuts, cut the deficit and make it harder for patients to file lawsuits against their doctors.

"I can stand up here and tell you that we have delivered results for the American people, and we've got an agenda to continue to do so," Bush said.

Well, everything REAL.
They don't fear the future because so many of them are religiously insane and don't think they HAVE a future that involves anything beyond being Raptued up to fundy heaven as the ICBMs are launched in Stupid's next war spun out of control.

However, they fear change most of all, and contradiction of their lunatic views second.

34. It was in answering how will history likely judge the Iraq war.
Dimson's reply, "History, we don't know. We'll all be dead."

http://www.opednews.com/lower042904_dead.htm

George W. Bush, when asked by Bob Woodward "how is history likely to judge your Iraq war?" replied, "History, we don't know. We'll all be dead." (Woodward Shares War Secrets, CBS News, 60 Minutes, April 18, 2004).

It is possible that Bush's comment "We'll all be dead" might only be subconsciously related to his belief in apocalypse. Perhaps he only meant that by the time "history" is written, we'll all be dead of prevailing disease and old age. If that is the case, the man remains a complete idiot. History did not wait for Hitler to die before condemning him, nor did the Republican party wait for Clinton to die before condemning him. History will not wait for George either. The man is already in deep trouble everywhere but in his half of America.

It is not clear just what Bush meant with his remark if taken outside the context of apocalypse. It is more clear that Bush does not know what he meant either, since his remark doesn't make any sense outside of the context of apocalypse. So, what else is new about our affable guy president?

Interpreting a fool might best be left to fools. On the other hand, Bush does fervently believe that he is doing the work of his god, and we can expect the worst. Given Bush's alcoholic indebtedness to the Old Testament apocalyptic religion that keeps him sober, we are justified in examining his remark in that context, even if Bush did not understand the context within which he made the remark.

21. Remember who he's talking to and it makes sense.
This is a fund raiser. He's talking to his base. His REAL base, the haves and the have mores. He's reminding them that he has delivered for them. He says "the American people" because, to the ultra rich, they are the only American people who matter. The rest are invisible.

Bush HAS delivered for the corporate oligarchs, the ultra-wealthy. They have had a fabulous 6 years. Many have accumulated enough wealth and privilege during Bush's term to last ten lifetimes. THEY are the Republicans who do not fear the future.

20. There is no need to fear
when you know you can't lose. Bush demonstrated this already, when you can win elections that you actually lost, there is no longer any need for fear or accountability. The population of this country has lost their form of representative govt, and many seem perfectly OK with it.

22. If the Republicans don't fear the future - at this point -
the whole lot of them are as nuts as Shrub. Dear Leader has his eye on Iran and he's squirrely enough to have a finger on the nuke button. (Note to Republicans: no amount of money and tax cuts can stop the Chinese from getting royally pissed if your boy drops a nuke on their oil supplier.)

23. Well, let me fear for the future for them
I fear for a Republican future, without a doubt. But I know there's nothing an election can't fix. I fear personally for a continatuion of the Bush economy, of which I became a casualty yesterday. But again, I think we can take it all back. I have that hope.

25. Of course, they do not believe in it. Here, now, profits, me, me, me.
That's the hallmark of a true republican; the yearning for the "better" past, and the here and now, and what they can extract from it and fuck everyone else.

You can't fear something you have no belief in.
