U.S. Dismisses Talk of Compromise on Iran
WASHINGTON - The Bush administration dismissed reports Monday that an eleventh-hour compromise might be struck over Iran's nuclear program, saying the path was clear for a review of the case soon by the U.N. Security Council.

Mohamed ElBaradei, head of the U.N. International Atomic Energy Agency, said at his agency's Vienna headquarters Monday that the council might not have to consider Iran's actions. Talks between Moscow and Tehran have focused on shifting Iran's fuel enrichment activities to Russia.

The United States has long spearheaded a campaign to haul Iran before the Security Council, which has the power to impose economic or other sanctions. There was no hint of optimism at the State Department about the latest efforts to defuse the issue, which ElBaradei said he hoped could produce a resolution in a week.

"I am not aware of any specific proposals or any specific ideas that would require or force any kind of delay in Security Council action," spokesman Tom Casey said.

8. I've heard that the military is preparing -- just like they were
preparing to attack Iraq.

The wheels are in motion.

And yes it is so wrong and immoral. All the vigils by 99% of the world's population won't stop this war if bushie is determined to push the button.

IF there is a war -- nukes will be used.

2. It's just interesting....
that they carry on like this....when they know they don't have a Snowball's chance in Hell to get this through.

The world is wise to them by now. Nobody is falling for this garbage, least of all Russia. Plus, France Russia and China have permanent veto powers, so they will most definitely say no to this little scam.

But then again, there's that old saying: Don't get in the way if your adversary insists on destroying himself.

4. They don't care about getting this through.
They are going through the same playbook as Iraq. They will get some sort of action out of the security council and they will use that resolution, no matter what it says to justify whatever it is they are already planning to do. France Russia and China will not veto shit because we will agree to something so watered down and ambiguous that there is nothing to veto. Then we will have our international resolution and off we go.
