Bolton: UN troubled by "sex and corruption"
Edited on Sat Feb-25-06 10:33 PM by Fenris
NEW YORK (AP) - The U.S. ambassador to the United Nations said Saturday that the world body is hobbled "by bad management, by sex and corruption" and a lack of confidence in its ability to carry out missions.

John Bolton also criticized the U.N.'s budget, noting that two-thirds of members pay only 20 percent of the cost.

"We find an organization that is deeply troubled by bad management, by sex and corruption and by a growing lack of confidence in its ability to carry out missions that are given to them," Bolton told an audience at a Columbia Law School symposium held by the Federalist Society, a conservative law organization.

Bolton, a longtime critic of the U.N., has been leading U.S. efforts to reform the United Nations after the oil-for-food scandal and sex scandals involving U.N. peacekeepers.

1. So, who's bumping booties at the U.N.? And does Bolton want in on it?
Is that why he's so upset? He doesn't have anyone at the UN to bump booties with?

10. Bootie-bumping would not seem to be one of Mr. Bolton's priorities.
Edited on Sat Feb-25-06 10:41 PM by ocelot
There are some people who are just too damn creepy for sex, and he's one of them; doing Bolton would be like humping a crocodile. If only somebody would bump his bootie and the booties of the rest of the Bush regime ghouls, maybe they wouldn't be so damn ornery.

Can any of you out there imagine sex with anyone (male or female) who is of any note in this administration without feeling the immediate urge to projectile-vomit? Me either.
This administration is desperate; Bolton's remark underscores yet another facet of their desperation.

John Bolton's Divorce – Group Sex Allegations

Press Release: Larry Flynt

John R. Bolton Court Divorce Records Show His First
Wife Fled Home When He Was Traveling Abroad

From Larry Flynt
http://www.larryflynt.com/bolton/

Publisher Larry Flynt's Questions Posed to State Department Regarding Corroborated Allegations that First Wife was Forced into Group Sex go Unanswered

May 11-LOS ANGELES - Court records concerning the divorce of John R. Bolton, the Bush administration's nominee to become the next ambassador to the United Nations, show his first wife fled the couple's marital home when he was traveling abroad in mid-August 1982. The records further show that she took most of the couple's furniture.

Corroborated allegations that Mr. Bolton's first wife, Christina Bolton, was forced to engage in group sex have not been refuted by the State Department despite inquires posed by Hustler magazine publisher Larry Flynt concerning the allegations. Mr. Flynt has obtained information from numerous sources that Mr. Bolton participated in paid visits to Plato's Retreat, the popular swingers club that operated in New York City in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

"The first Mrs. Bolton's conduct raises the presumption that she fled out of fear for her safety or, at a minimum, it demonstrates that Mr. Bolton's established inability to communicate or work respectfully with others extended to his intimate family relations," said Mr. Flynt. "The court records alone provide sufficient basis for further investigation of nominee Bolton by the Senate." (Click here for court records). Mr. Flynt continued, "The U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations must be free of any potential source of disrepute or blackmail."

Welker objects to sex-themed show

By John Fryar
The Daily Times-Call

DENVER — Loveland Republican Rep. Jim Welker is objecting to the Colorado Convention Center’s scheduling of a sex-oriented trade show this weekend.

Welker said Friday that he’s sending a letter to Convention Center officials expressing several GOP lawmakers’ “deep concern” about The Sex and So Much More Show at the downtown venue, noting that the center was financed in part by a bond issue approved by this city’s voters.

Show organizers say on their Web site that they’ll limit attendance to people age 19 and older. But Welker said in a Friday statement that “it is unacceptable for Colorado to become a culture that exposes impure behavior to our children without batting an eye.”

Welker said, “Keeping in mind that Colorado citizens have helped the convention center to become the renowned place it is today, the center in return should host exhibits that reflect the philosophies and ideals (of) its citizens.

PSYCHIATRIST: Are you troubled by thoughts of perverted sexual activities?
PERVERT: No. Actually I quite enjoy them!

But seriously, how does one manage an institution by sex and corruption? I would venture to say that the repubes have demonstrated pretty conclusively that management by corruption and sex is pretty bad management indeed. I would also think that if anyone knew, it would be the 'pubes, since they seem to be the masters of it here at home.

58. The "sex" referred to is UN peacekeepers raping children and indigents
I think there's only one other person on this thread who understands that rape by blue-helmeted peacekeepers is a nasty serious business indeed.

Here's a link to a Reuters story. There are plenty of others.
http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/N2320357.htm

Google for more. Check out what went down in Congo, Somalia, Kosovo, and East Timor. In Congo, the UN "peacekeepers" raped children preferentially to avoid getting AIDS. Yep, jamming your penis inside a nine-year-old is certainly one way to avoid STDs.

Where is the outrage, people? WHERE IS THE FUCKING OUTRAGE???? In Abu Ghraib at least the victims were *adults*. Does this not warrant at least an equivalent response?

Just because we hate Bolton doesn't mean we can't hate child rape, too. Unbelievable.

Peace.

61. Several points
Corruption? Maybe. Few large governing bodies exist without it. But this accusation comes from a man who owes his very position to widespread corruption in his home country.

Sex? No doubt the alleged acts in question - I am not yet up to speed on this, so I just can't speak at any length with validity - are of serious import and are a major blow to UN credibility. This is an area of concern, even if Bolton's the one saying so. Again, however, the man's own history does make his professed outrage questionable and actually trivializes the issue through his mention of it.

Dues paying? Sure, there are a lot of countries that don't pay much at the UN. Not every country is a US, or even an India, or a Greece. We're talking about nations like Tanzania, which gets something like 85%-90% of its energy generated by lighting wood fires. We're talking nations that have literacy rates lower than George W. Bush's approval ratings. We're talking nations with very serious internal problems that are directly impacting (read: sickening and killing) their populations. The nations that can pay more, should. To ask Zimbabwe to make a bigger contribution so that the wealthier nations (read: the US) can make a smaller one, while at the same time insisting that the US should still be able to do pretty much what it likes on the world stage, is plain arrogance. Again, coming from this man, it does neither the US nor the UN one whit of good for him to say this.

Conclusion: John Bolton is a pompous, overbearing, self-important blowhard with a big stick who - by my guess - is about as welcome at the UN as a skinhead at a Jewish Defense League meeting. They may not actually ask him to leave, but that's not through any merit of his, or of what he represents.

Sorry, I thought I was logged in as myself. I was logged in as the missus. (husband is Piscis Austrinus; wife is doni_georgia)

Nothing so embarrassing as getting caught wearing your wife's clothes.

Perhaps we could ask Mr. Bolton to comment?

Peace
