Reid says Bush administration's 'incompetence' will aid Democrats
Let's see if the heavy-handed moderating of this forum locks this thread and tosses into some nondescript area of DU. That's been happening to alot of posts in lbn lately and not just mine.

RENO, Nev. (AP) - Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid said Friday that if midterm elections were held today Democrats would win the five seats they need to draw even in the Senate, due largely to the Bush administration's "general incompetence" at home and abroad.

"This is an administration that is going to be noted for its incompetence not its accomplishments," Reid, D-Nev., said after a forum on Medicare reforms at the University of Nevada's School of Medicine.

Reid said polls show Democrats winning Republican-held seats in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Montana, Missouri and Rhode Island.

"And we have good shots in Arizona and Tennessee," he said. "If elections were held today, we'd pick up five seats. The Senate would be 50-50. "

1. I found this last paragraph interesting...
Gibbons is confident that as seniors gain more information about the new program "they will begin to enjoy great savings and the peace of mind that comes from not having to choose between paying rent and affording lifesaving medication," she said.

Yeah, they won't have to choose... they STILL won't be able to afford the medicine they need. :(

5. Incompetence?
So.
I take it this is the Dem's "better way" to avoid confronting issues like health care, illegal immigration, manufacturing jobs, etc.

pffft
