Ehrlich Is Inclined To Accept Port Deal
Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. said yesterday it is looking increasingly unlikely that he will try to block a United Arab Emirates company from taking over port operations in Baltimore.

Ehrlich (R) said he is continuing to review the security concerns raised by the proposed purchase by Dubai Ports World of the British company that oversees the movement of cargo containers at the Baltimore port.

But when asked yesterday if he now agrees with President Bush and supports the sale, Ehrlich said, "Clearly, the facts are moving in that direction."

The governor's view appears to be heading opposite that of Maryland Democrats, including leading state lawmakers and Baltimore Mayor Martin O'Malley, who yesterday were voicing stern opposition to any agreement that put a company owned by the United Arab Emirates in charge of stevedoring operations.

Hmm, I seem to remember seeing something else about Gov. Ehrlich in the paper this week...

Ehrlich objects to port deal

Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. said yesterday that he was concerned that a state-owned company in the United Arab Emirates could gain control of some operations at the port of Baltimore - the highest-ranking Maryland official to weigh in on what has ballooned into a major national political issue over port security.

6. I fully expected the Congress to roll over and lick Bush
but I wasn't convinced about the Governors, Mayors, and other local officials to be so easy. I hope Corzine hold firm on his lawsuits about it.

These stories coming out following 'briefings' really have my red alerts on hyperspeed. Something stinks. There's something about this we don't know.

God, I hate to think it and jump to conclusions...but I'm really wondering if UAE has OBL. :banghead:
