Cuba Demands Justice

Relatives of Cuban victims of US terrorism paid homage to their loved ones during a 24 hour vigil held at the Jose Marti Anti-imperialist Plaza located in front of the US Interests Section in Havana.

Tears were shed for the deceased sons and daughters, victims of terrorist attacks and for five Cuban antiterrorist fighters who, after seven years, are still being arbitrarily held in US prisons.

138 black flags, each with a white star in the center, representing more than 3,000 Cubans murdered by acts of terrorism were hoisted before the presence of relatives of the victims, and representatives from government and public organizations.

The 138 flags, flying in the wind are a reminder of all the sorrow and suffering and a call for justice. The flags point to the US Interests Section, a den of counterrevolutionary activity and hypocrisy, responsible for so much death due to terrorism supported and financed by consecutive US administrations.

Who does dare deny it? Nobody can. The perpetrators of US terrorism go unpunished, freely walking the streets of the USA, just look at self-confessed terrorist Luis Posada Carriles.

U.S. Agents first learned about Alvarez, a Miami developer, in May when he helped Cuban exile militant Luis Posada Carilles emerge from hiding before his arrest for entering the country illegally.


The two defendants -- both being held in solitary confinement -- claim they should be tried in Miami federal by a jury of their peers. They say U.S. agents seized almost all of the nine firearms cited in the indictment in Miami-Dade, where a government informant allegedly transported them to Mitat. Among them: machine guns and a grenade launcher.
