Leahy: Wiretaps illegal

CAPITOL HILL The senior Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee says President Bush broke the law in his domestic spying program.

Patrick Leahy says al-Qaida terrorists should be monitored. But the Vermont Democrat says Bush chose to illegally wiretap Americans' conversations without safeguards to protect civil liberties.

3. It's HARD WORK picking up the phone and getting a warrant
It's also hard work picking up the phone to tell a judge after the fact - that the warrantless wiretap has been done.

8. They never had a class like that when I was in law school. Well, sounds
like a perfect paper for that class; juicy stuff. Good luck with it.

10. Bush and abuse of power/process laws in the 21st Century.
If I ever went to law school; I would write a paper about Bush and his administrations, involvement knowing or unknowing, to ignore the rule of law.
