Obama backs Clinton's criticism of GOP
Associated Press

WASHINGTON - Sen. Barack Obama on Wednesday defended Sen. Hillary Clinton for describing the House of Representatives as a "plantation," saying he felt her choice of words referred to a "consolidation of power" in Washington that squeezes out the voters.

The senator told CNN's "American Morning" he believed that Clinton was merely expressing concern that special interests play such a large role in writing legislation that "the ordinary voter and even members of Congress who aren't in the majority party don't have much input."

"There's been a consolidation of power by the Republican Congress and this White House in which, if you are the ordinary voter, you don't have access," Obama said. "... That should be a source of concern for all of us."

...or some crap.

But sure, O and all DEMS could use a lot more fire to get attention- but his subtle style seems to work for him while you are watching/listening...

5. Wow! Our Senators NOT sniping each other for once...
...I think I like it. If we learn ANYTHING from the Repukes, we need to stick together and stand up for each other. Nicely done.

9. That and
That and to point out to them and anyone else in earshot that the plantation reference was not Hillary's creation. Newt the G and any number of other frightwing politicians and talking heads have used the expression. A google will turn up lots of references by different people. Then I suppose finally we could always fall back on the old repiglon standby- her remarks were taken out of context.

10. As a strong defender and local "mouth" for Obama,
I must say I've been disappointed in his performance, thus far. Maybe this is a portent of things to come...

15. I campaigned for him, hoping he would come out of the box,
breathing fire, kicking ass and naming names. His speeches were pretty blunt and straight talking, during the election run up.
He has, to me at least, been too mild and conciliatory, good enough for thirty rears ago, but not nearly powerful enough for the current war against the culture of corruption and criminal enterprise destroying this country.

I am pleased at this contribution to the fight against tyranny and I want MORE-BETTER!

12. did anyone catch Sharpton on Hardball last night re: Hil's comments?
In response to Ron Christie's (former Bush advisor) potshot about the inappropriateness of Hil's comments at a MLK event, Sharpton said the RNC didn't even want a MLK holiday in the first place and don't lecture us about how to celebrate it!!!

Another great zinger from Sharpton: How does Bush sit in Texas and miss a hurricane coming for three days and yet he knows there are WMD in Iraq that were NOT there?

hahahahaha. Sharpton was best I've seen him, ever.:loveya:
