MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Mexico demanded on Tuesday that Washington investigate the fatal shooting
of another undocumented migrant by U.S. security agents, adding fuel to a smoldering dispute over
illegal immigration.
Mexican Ismael Segura, 23, was fatally shot in the chest by security agents in Texas on the weekend
after he resisted arrest and tried to flee in his a car, the second killing of a Mexican migrant
by U.S. security forces in recent days, the Mexican government said.
Segura was badly injured and died later in hospital.
Mexico -- also fuming at a U.S. proposal to erect a border fence and make illegal immigration
a serious crime -- said its consulate in McAllen, Texas, had asked the local security department
for a full inquiry into Segura's death.
