Bomb diffused at a San Francisco Starbucks (O'Reilly inspired?)
A bomb left inside a Starbucks bathroom was diffused by the San Francisco police explosives ordinance unit this afternoon, according to Sgt. Neville Gittens.

The improvised explosive device, or IED, was diffused by at around 2 p.m., Gittens said.

Police responded to a call about a suspicious device in the coffee house located at Van Ness Avenue and Bush Street at around 1:15 p.m.

I mean, I know the street was there first, but you'd think by now they would have changed it to "Avenue of the Activists" or something.

anything to inspire fear.

unless this was a military operation, isn't it pretty likely that any bomb would be improvised. it's not like you can get a bomb at home depot.

"Coming up on channel 4, could your next double mocha latte put you in the way of an IED? we'll tell you"

i wonder if the reporters on scene are "embedded"?

Even this dude used the IED terminology.:scared:

--Ricardo Frias, a sales representative with Ellis Brooks Auto Center, located adjacent to the Starbucks, said a heavy police presence began at around 1 p.m. He said once the bomb squad arrived on scene an hour later, all auto center employees were directed to stand on the other side of the block-long store for about 30 minutes. He said he heard nothing when the IED was defused.--

20. Somewhere there must be a "think" tank that dreams up sophisticated
names for ordinary shit. Devices. WTF is that about? For hundreds of years, a device was the same thing as a gadget, a gizmo, a mechanism, an apparatus and so on. A bomb was a bomb. There were little bombs and big bombs and that pretty well covered the spectrum of bombology.

Now you can't even buy a goddamn BED - it's a "sleep system." :grr:

Toothbrush? Naw, it's a "Dental hygeine system."

15. An IED! ROFLMAO!!! An "improvised explosive device"!!!
Are they fucking kidding me? An editor, presumably a grown adult person of some sort, let that stupid acronym - which has previously only applied to Iraq - into this story? Oh my God, I'm pissing myself laughing.

There comes a point when blatant insults to one's intelligence become hilarious jokes, and I think I just reached it. Every bomb sent by the Unabomber was an "IED." The Oklahoma City bomb was an "IED." Hell, almost every bomb not made in a certified bomb making factory in the history of creation is a fucking "IED," now, I suppose! Give. Me. A. Fucking. Baaaaaaa-reak.

I don't listen to his show except for the bits that are played on the Daily Show or Al Franken, and I don't even catch all of those. I would not put it beyond him to call for this on his show, very much like Ann Coulter calls for shooting people to make an example.
