Blunt, Boehner Campaign to Succeed DeLay
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060108/ap_on_go_co/house_gop_leadership

WASHINGTON - In a race framed by scandal, Republican Reps. Roy Blunt and John Boehner plunged into a campaign Sunday to succeed Tom DeLay as House majority leader.

"We've had a tough run recently, some of it of our own making," Boehner, R-Ohio, wrote fellow Republicans. "But I also believe that if we are able to renew our energy and our commitment to our basic principles, the best is yet to come."

A spokeswoman for Blunt, the GOP whip who has served temporarily as majority leader in DeLay's place, said the Missouri lawmaker was assuring Republicans of his commitment to a reform agenda.

"He is talking about his proven track record as whip, his experience at the leadership table, and his efforts at bringing members from all parts of our conference together to work toward common goals," spokesman Burson Taylor said.

2. Roy Blunt is almost as bad as DeLay. Don't know much about this other
guy though. But what need be said about a party when you really don't have to have any character, ethics, or dignity and you're still higher up on the evolutionary scale than the pig they just got rid of.

5. CNN mentioned a third candidate this morning.
I can't remember his name, and can't find it on CNN, but they showed his pic along side Blunt and Boehner. He was a thin looking guy with a full head of snow white hair, but that's all I remember.

Since his name hasn't been mentioned since, does that mean the decision will be between just Blunt and Bohner?
