Board Rescinds 'Intelligent Design' Policy
"Not even Pseudo-Science" for Creationism go bye-bye.
__________________________________

OVER, Pa. - The Dover school board on Tuesday rescinded its policy of presenting "intelligent design" as an alternative to evolution in high school biology classes, two weeks after a federal judge found the concept was religious and not scientific.

The policy, approved in October 2004, required that a statement be read to students about "intelligent design" before ninth-grade lessons on evolution. The statement said Darwin's theory is "not a fact" and has inexplicable "gaps." It referred students to an "intelligent-design" book.

On Dec. 20, U.S. District Judge John E. Jones III sided with eight families who argued that "intelligent design," which attributes the existence of complex organisms to an unidentified intelligent cause, is biblical creationism in disguise.

1. The judges' ruling had some really funny moments
He really gave "intelligent design" hell.

This is a wonderful ruling, and a great day for science, rationality, and intelligence, and a major victory for our children.

2. He ground the fundies under his heel
then body-slammed them with logic. What a glorious ruling.

4. Yeah he did!
I couldn't believe it as I was reading it. The newspaper printed a fair amount of text from the ruling, and I was reading it saying to myself, "I can't believe he wrote this - yes, go go go go go! Give 'em hell!"

Of course, he'll be accused of legislating from the bench.
