Death threats force Muslim youth retreat to meet at secret location

LITHIA, Fla. (AP) -- A retreat for young Muslims was moved to a secret location after Internet bloggers alleged a scheduled speaker had terrorist ties, prompting death threats.

The three-day event was to be held this weekend at the rural Presbyterian Cedarkirk Camp and Conference Center to teach youth leadership skills and core religious studies to about 50 young adults, ages 18 and up.

The Rev. Debbie Bronkema, Cedarkirk's director, said she received threats. After contacting the FBI and the sheriff's office, she decided to close the center for the weekend.

Mohamed Moharram, president of the Muslim American Society of Tampa, said the retreat would occur at an alternate site. But he wouldn't give the address, citing security concerns.

"We got threats to be burned, to be destroyed," he said. "It's appalling."

This proves something. You don't need to be muslim to be a terrorist. You can be a terrorist while also being white christian bastards in the united states, too :/

To the people who make these kinds of threats to muslims: do you have any capability to understand you are just as much terrorists if you threaten/carry out those claims?

There is no terrorism, only crime. Terrorism is simply crime that comes from "bad men overseas". Isn't the mafia terrorism? The skull and bones? Corrupt cops? Any kind of arsonist, those who kill people and animals in protected zones? People are stupid and have adopted a term that has existed throughout history, we were all okay with it when it was simply called "Crime"!
