Two U.S. pilots die in Baghdad helicopter crash

"There was no hostile fire involved," they said in a statement, without giving further details.

1. Are they that sure that it was mechanical failure, or pilot error?
They are pretty quick to deny the chopper was shot down.

8. careful, you're falling into their semantic trap.
they said "no hostile fire" involved. next month we'll hear that it was "accidentally" shot down.

3. Bush will soon declare Victory in Iraq
and pull out our troops with "honor". Just like in Vietnam. But his corporate globalists have never seen a higher profit as our taxes are drained.

4. Will those deaths be counted?
A Marine was killed and three were injured in Japan a couple of weeks ago while training to go to Iraq. I'm sure those casualties aren't counted, either. And they're only reported in the various hometowns. My son was there so that's how I know.

5. This story is really buried in MSNBC
Notice the headline:

Protesters call for unity government in Iraq

The U.S. military said two U.S. pilots died in a helicopter accident in western Baghdad Monday night. The accident was under investigation; the military said no hostile fire was involved.

6. We rarely have one of our super duper aircrafts shot out of
sky. The DoD always sez,"There was no hostile" - How come the pile keep getting bigger? 2172

Grass Bush

Pile the bodies high in Austerlitz and Waterloo Iraq
Shovel them under and let me work--
I am the grass; bush; I cover all.

And pile them high in Gettyburg Baghdad
And pile them high in Ypres and Vedum Mossoul and Al Fallaujah

Two years, ten years, and passengers ask the conductor:
What place is this?

I am the grass bush.
Let me work.

Carl Sandburg

Please bring the troops home alive and not in pine boxes

10. The Pentagon does NOT want us to believe
that our equipment is getting shot out of the sky by Iraqis (or terrorists, as Bush calls them).

The fact is, we've lost dozens of Blackhawk helicopters both in Iraq and Afghanistan. I believe the sticker price says $14 million apiece.

I was reading on another thread about an Abrams tank which was burning in Baghdad. Many readers were surprised that this could happen. I started looking into it. So far, we've lost 80 tanks in this war. We've got massive machinery over there; Abrams tanks, Bradley fighting vehicle (another tank) thousands of trucks. The cost of the war does not include the loss of equipment. And it runs into the billions.

But believe it or not, the biggest threat to this equipment is not Iraqs, but sand. Yes, the sand is wearing this equipment our super-fast. Most of them need to be replaced very soon.

PS Abrams tanks get 1/2 mile to the gallon. They are massive monsters, and they always need a gas truck running behind them to fill them up.

14. Film of a shoot-down will probably be released in a few days.
Then, the Pentagon will tell the truth. At least that has been the usual pattern.
