Bush: Leaving Iraq Too Soon Would Endanger America
American Forces Press Service

WASHINGTON, Dec. 14, 2005 – Leaving Iraq before the mission there is finished will make America less, not more, secure and will send a dangerous message that will ring around the world, President Bush said today here at the Woodrow Wilson International Center.
Speaking the day before Iraq's national elections, Bush disputed critics who claim the United States would be safer and Iraq less violent if the United States withdrew its forces there.

"This view presumes that if we were not in Iraq, the terrorists would be leaving us alone," Bush said.

In reality, the president said, terrorists have been targeting America for years - as evidenced by attacks on New York's World Trade Center in 1993, the U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania in 1998, the USS Cole in 2000 and the World Trade Center and Pentagon in 2001.

All these incidents occurred when the United States did not have a single American troop in Iraq, the president noted.

..

It would tell Iraqis risking their lives for democracy that America is more interested in leaving than in helping them succeed, Bush said. It would tell terrorists that they can wait out America, emboldening them and inviting new attacks on the United States. And it would tell U.S. friends and allies that "when the going gets tough, America will retreat," he said.

:wtf:

1. Yes. It just might.
On the other hand, who was it that rushed into Iraq to avenge the humiliation of Geroge H. W. Bush?

"We" (as in His Nibs, George W. Bush) rushed into Iraq to "git thet varmint" Saddam Hussein, rather than to organize an international "posse" to do the job with the authority of the world's disapproval of the reign of tyranny of the Butcher of Baghdad. Now "we" (as in the American public) must pay the price for our idiot bastard Preznit.

America just might be in danger, but the terr'ists will have to take a number and get in line behind the Beltway Buccaneers and their buccin' lunatic crusades.

8. What good does it do
to attack other countries, claiming that we're fighting "terrorism", when the government is perfectly willing to let hundreds of thousands of people on the Gulf Coast drown, live in tents, and be completely abandoned? They have been just as terrorized by the lack of a serious government response to a natural disaster, as they would have been had the disaster been at the hands of terrorists.

When citizens of New Orleans, or Mississippi, or any other area ravaged by Katrina look at the ruins of their homes, are they comforted to know that the destruction was caused by nature, and deliberate neglect, rather than due to a terrorist? As the elderly drowned in rising waters, waiting for help that never came, were their last thoughts "Well, at least I'm not dying because of Osama..."?

Idiot Bush is so out of touch with reality, that he has endangered our country, and the rest of the world, to cater to his own megalomania. We can't afford him any longer. He needs to be impeached now, along with his criminal VP Cheney. Our country is being destroyed from within; all the terrorists have to do is sit back and watch.

10. Desperate men take desperate measures. Iraqis are getting desperate.
They want us out. If we don't stop fighting them there, they're going to start fighting us here.
