Syria warns against sanctions

Bashar al-Assad, the Syrian president, has warned that an attempt to impose sanctions on his nation would destabilise the region and the entire world.

Al-Assad was speaking on Sunday to Russia's Rossiya state television before this week's release of a UN report on the progress of the investigation into the assassination of former prime minister Rafiq al-Hariri.

He again declared Syria's innocence in the murder, and said the UN probe was politicised.

"The Middle East is the heart of the world, and Syria is the heart of the Middle East," al-Assad said. "If the situation in Syria and Iraq isn't good, the whole region will become unstable, and the entire world will pay for that."

1. The destablization of Iraq & Syria is the goal - Mosul/Haifa pipeline

"The Middle East is the heart of the world, and Syria is the heart of the Middle East," al-Assad said. "If the situation in Syria and Iraq isn't good, the whole region will become unstable, and the entire world will pay for that."

And once Syria is under control, the "entire world" will also be paying US and Israeli interests for the stolen Iraqi oil.

3. Your "friends" shouldn't be there

Invading other countries tends to bring out the worst in the locals.
If someone invaded your country you would hate the invaders as well.
Just the facts buddy.

4. Domestic resistance vs foreign asshole with suicide vest
Edited on Mon Dec-12-05 10:56 AM by ECH1969
foreign assholes with suicide vests coming in from Syria have no right to be there. The jihadis are a far bigger killer of Iraqi civilians then they are to US troops.

The Iraqi people don't like any foreigners period getting invoved in their conflict.
