3. He's wrong more often that right...
But even so, I don't think Americans will let the Rethugs edit together sound bites that change the meaning of what was said.

And if they do, the real story will come out and won't it be great to see egg on their (the Rethugs) faces????

7. Of course they will
Americans hear what they want to hear and so far the 'marching to victory, we are strong, we are soldiers' message always ends up winning for Bush. I have about had it- if the military will continue to back this madman, let them fight and die if they want to. In the end the people of this country get what they deserve. I just am sorry I have grandchildren coming up who will be the big losers in the long run as Bush is allowed to destroy this country.

20. NRSC plans multi-state attack tying Democrats to Abramoff
By Peter Savodnik

The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) is planning a public-relations offensive tying leading Democrats to lobbyist Jack Abramoff in an effort to neutralize accusations that Republicans have been embroiled in a “culture of corruption.”

The campaign will zero in on Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.); Sens. Debbie Stabenow and Carl Levin, both Michigan Democrats; and the Democratic Senatorial Committee (DSCC), among others, for taking money from Abramoff’s former clients.
<snip>
Democrats said the GOP media campaign reflects fears that some Republicans who had not been deemed vulnerable might lose next year. Topping that list, these Democrats said, is Sen. Conrad Burns (R-Mont.), who has been attacked for his connections to Abramoff.
<snip>
“Now that the Republicans have gotten their hand caught in the cookie jar, they are doing whatever they can to divert attention from the corruption that has become the defining characteristic of the GOP majority,” DSCC spokesman Phil Singer said. “It’s not going to work.”

2. Cowards, the whole lot of them!
Governor Dean was right every single step of the time and the majority of Americans agree with him.

I've got a few places that the GOPCowards can go to.

Time to open up the wallet and send some money to Dean - he must be doing something right if the GOP have their panties in a Frist.

11. Now if only we can actually put THAT comment in an AD!
We sure as hell didn't do that last year! Maybe that comment could have exposed Bush for the douche bag he really is.

8. i'm sure images of congressmen with a surrender flag is great for morale
Edited on Thu Dec-08-05 08:01 PM by unblock
obviously there's a huge difference between wanting to bring the troops home and surrendering, which not only implies losing but turning yourself over to the enemy. these banana republicans obviously don't care for troop morale as these commercials can't be good for the troops.

but of course, they've never actually given a rat's ass about the troops' ACTUAL morale, they just love using it as an excuse to stifle dissent and bully their own way.

13. It has to be framed as a challenge to a failed Bush policy.
Nancy did a great job of that in her last press conference. Believe me, there was no retreat in her speech. :)

15. Easy Response
August 30, 2004:

In an interview on NBC-TV's "Today" show, Mr. Bush vowed to stay the course in the war on terror, saying perseverance in the battle would make the world safer for future generations. But he suggested an all-out victory against terrorism might not be possible.

Asked "Can we win?" Mr. Mr. Bush said, "I don't think you can win it. But I think you can create conditions so that the — those who use terror as a tool are less acceptable in parts of the world."

When I saw the screen cap, it seemed to me that that the visuals could just as easily imply that somebody was surrendering to Dean - that could be fun.... ;-)

22. No hiding now for the Dems while the swift boaters attack. Now is the
time for a forceful response to the American public. How many more dead sons do you want to die for a mistake? This war was sold on the premise that Iraq had WMDs and was going to destroy America. Mistakes and lies. Do you want your son to be next? Do you want to see children in Iraq with only the bone left in their leg because of the use of White Phosphorous on civilians? Do you think the insurgency is in its last throes? What possible metric could define success in Iraq? Yes, lets have this battle.

24. Dean needs to shut up
and think before he speaks. Damn! We got the repukes on the ropes and you have folks like Dean making remarks like that. Hell, all he would have had to do was quote the former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak that told cheney, "that America has lost in Iraq".Plus Barak added, The only issue Barak told Cheney, "was choosing the size of your humiliation".

Dean could have phrased it this way, " I do not agree with the statement that the former prime minister of Israel said to vice president cheney, that "America has lost the war in Iraq" and quoting again, " choosing the size of our humiliation". I do not agree with those statements as I have already said, but unless the president make changes in Iraq, we could be facing down the road exactly what the prime minister said. After the December 15 th election begin turn over the country to the Iraqi government and the army and get out of there in a peaceful orderly way..."
