U.S. Treasury's Snow predicts uptick in deficit
weren't they just saying that they were "on the path" of cutting the deficit in half?

http://today.reuters.com/investing/financeArticle.aspx?type=bondsNews&storyID=2005-12-07T193712Z_01_WBT004351_RTRIDST_0_ECONOMY-SNOW-URGENT.XML

WASHINGTON, Dec 7 (Reuters) - Treasury Secretary John Snow on Wednesday predicted an uptick in the U.S. budget deficit next year due to costs related to Hurricane Katrina.

"We'll obviously see some, some pick up next year unfortunately in, in the deficit as it reflects the spending for Katrina," Snow said after a meeting at the White House. "But the long term path we're on, and that's the path that will have the deficit coming in as a percent of GDP at below 2 percent," he said.

...short blurb...

5. An UPTICK in the deficit! Holy freakin'....
...shit!

My fellow DU'ers, please pay attention. I don't stand to make a dime either way, but here are my strong recommendations to you.

1. If you own a home, make sure you have a long-term fixed rate mortgage. If you have some kind of balloon mortgage crap, refinance it now. If you can't afford a fixed rate on the house you're in, sell it and move. Now.

2. Make sure any other loans (like car loans) are on fixed rates.

3. Buy gold or silver.

10. This is why the GOP sneers at "tax and spend" Democrats.
They're the spend and spend party. Somebody's grandchildren can try to catch up on the deficit.

13. Is this the reason for the rumor SnowJob is going to be replaced?
Look at what happened to everyone else in the administration who told the truth.
