Bush speech gets cold shoulder from Pelosi

CAPITOL HILL President Bush's latest speech on Iraq is getting a cool response from House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats.

Pelosi says, "Just because he says thing are improving there, doesn't make it so."

The California Democrat is suggesting the president is out of touch with reality. Pelosi says that while Bush claims security is better in Iraq, that's not the case.

Democratic Senator Jack Reed says Bush's speech was short on specifics.

1. "Short on specifics" is the Bushy credo.
I like you, Jack, but get w/the program.

3. here's Reed's exact statement:
"Complete victory's a nice slogan, but what does it mean and how long will it take?" — Sen. Jack Reed, D-R.I.

5. It's like talking to a child, isn't it?
That's what the Bushies have reduced themselves to. I know 10 year olds who lie better.

2. Not sure why but it appears that my poodle was growling because...
of War Hero's superb speech on the progress in Iraq. She stopped after it was over.

6. I watched part of that speech. It was pathetic.
He was pontificating about platitudes and the obvious to the better informed. He was speaking to the Council on Foreign Relations and he sounded like an eighth grader giving a speech in history class about war.

He didn't say ANYTHING remotely reportable.

I said something like that to hubby and that George is so embarrassing, and he remarked that maybe George got a good deal on his car insurance.

8. Pelosi would know. She must have "what didn't go right?" seared
into her mind from Katrina.
