Pace: Battling Terrorism Will Be Long War
Associated Press

WASHINGTON — The military hasn't done a good enough job of explaining to the American people what is going on in Iraq and the political and military progress there, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staffsaid Thursday.

Even so, Gen. Peter Pace, warned that battling terrorism will be a long war.

Speaking at the National Defense University at Fort McNair, Pace said he is often asked if the United States would be better off by ending the fight and leaving Iraq.

"There is no option other than victory," he said. "You need to get out and read what our enemies have said ... Their goal is to destroy our way of life."

1. Just like the War on Drugs
An endless war to consume mass quantities of the national budget and a tool to use against any enemy you have foreign or domestic.
It is a war to justify changes of laws to benefit the powers in charge at the time.
It is a get rich scheme for thy Friends.

3. I see... a LONG-term war requiring...
Republican presidents and Congresses for the forseeable future. We must stop all abortions now, so that there will be plenty of young Americans available for the unprovoked invasions that will be necessary to sustain the corporations, the politicians and the media through the "long slog" that lies ahead.

More tax cuts for the wealthy will also be a help, but will not be enough without more job out-sourcing and wage cuts for those whose jobs simply cannot be outsourced. In the shorter term, we need more money from all forms of delivered energy - rolling back gasoline prices is a luxury we cannot afford at this time. If our government programs have to be rolled back ("solved") to pay for our greed, then so be it.

Yes, we must steel ourselves for the long-term task of bending the earth to our will, to prepare the world for Democracy(tm), and ready ourselves for the ultimate Rapture of all our rich, greedy, murderous souls.

I wonder, General Pace, whose goal it it really "to destroy our way of life?"
