Four Wash. Inmates at Large After Breakout
By Associated Press

November 26, 2005, 1:00 PM EST

YAKIMA, Wash. -- Four maximum security inmates, including one murder defendant, were at large Saturday after they and five other men used a rope made of bed sheets to escape from the Yakima County Jail, authorities said.

The other five were quickly recaptured on the jail grounds.

"Right now we don't have any specific whereabouts of where these individuals may be headed or if they're even still together," Yakima Police Chief Sam Granato said Saturday on ABC's "Good Morning America."

"We have specific information that their plans were to arm themselves and gain access to weapons after they escaped, and we're positive they had assistance from someone on the outside," Granato said.

1. Was one of them a midget fortune teller?
If so, shouldn't the headline read:

Small medium at large?

9. Complex PTSD, BPD, all due to repeated, prolonged violent victimization
Here. Constantly in fear? Get a gun.

I'm rooting for the bad guys too, a whole hell of a lot of them are in prison because mental health is not available to those in this country who need it.

Accept that you live in a violent world and move on, that's what they tell me, should be good enough for you too.

10. You're mistaking jail with prison,.
Edited on Sat Nov-26-05 02:45 PM by icymist
These people have not had their day in court. They cut out and ran before any trial could be presented. These people are cowards and deserve no less than our detesting of how they view our criminal-justice system. When you stand up for suspected criminals running from the law, then you stand for lawlessness and vigil-ante type 'justice'.

11. I don't stand for lawlessness, it's just that after a long and painfull
education I'm learning to go with the flow.

These prisoners aren't convicted yet? Cool, that increases the odds that they may actually be innocent!

Lemme tell you as a member of the economic underclass, even the innocent have reason to flee, opportunity presented.

12. Whoa! You're opening the door to total anarchy and lawlessness.
This arguement totally undermines a society of laws of the court. This is what the B*sh administration wishes to apply to all of us: A society without the laws of the court, but of the laws of man. In that way can these bastards ensure that we be governed by corporations run by men.

13. The court answers to no one, least of all it's citizens.

Pretty scary realization, been that way long before 43's reign.

Those justices who practice justice are a dying breed, most have been purged. The court is now yanked like a puppet by ambitious, unscrupulous prosecutors and hamstrung by laws brought in to being by powerful prison lobby groups.

It hasn't been about justice for a long, long time.

Look up the definition of anarchy, it's not as scary as you think. Unless of course you have a vested interest in protecting the corrupt wealthy white male power structure, you know, the same pricks who got us where we are today.

On edit: I am a 43 yo, educated, American born white male. I can say these things, see how that works!

14. So you ARE advocating anarchy and a lawless reign!
Talk about throwing the baby out with the bathwater! I doubt if anything I can say will change your mind. Let's just both pray that sanity will rule this mess we call order and soon!

Hurmph! If it wasn't past my bedtime (I work midnight) there'd be a lot more talk about this! You rubbed me backwards! I believe that (suspected) criminals should go to jail and have their say in court! I really believe that people are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law and not in my bedroom with a gun, (like shooting at the man standing at the foot of my bed with a knife)! My actions did more to scare that man away that day, not a threat of a gun!

P.S. To this day, I still own no gun.

Anyway, there you go. I'm going to bed now so go and get in the last word.

Nine inmates escape from Yakima Co. Jail; four still at large

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

YAKIMA, Wash. -- Nine maximum security inmates used a rope made of bedsheets to escape from the Yakima County Jail. Five were quickly recaptured but four remain at large, authorities said.

A similar approach was used in a 1994 jailbreak.

The missing four, including a 20-year-old man charged with second-degree murder, were being hunted by sheriff's officers, city police, the U.S. Marshal Service and Yakima County corrections officers.

5. Huh? What?!
You're 'rooting' for a suspected murderer before he or she gets the chance to go to court? Hell no! I'm not 'rooting' for them! I'll root for them in court, not in an escaped running!
