O'Reilly Won't Back Down After Blasting S.F. (what a surprise)
(CBS 5) Conservative Broadcaster Bill O’Reilly is making no apologies for his inflammatory comments about San Francisco.

"I'm from New York,” O’Reilly said on the radio Friday. “There are dozens of people in my neighborhood, on Long Island, who are dead because of 9/11, and you people are telling me you're not going to allow military recruiting out there. Hey, it's serious, and I think you guys need a wake-up call."

O’Reilly is upset about the city’s proposition discouraging public schools from allowing military recruiters on campus. On his national radio show Tuesday, he said San Francisco should not get a nickel of federal funds.

"And if al Qaeda comes in here and blows you up, we're not going to do anything about it,” he said. “We're going to say, look every other place in America is off limits to you, except San Francisco. You want to blow up the Coit Tower, go ahead."

Mayor Gavin Newsom says the proposition does not mean that people in San Francisco are Anti-military. He says that people just have concerns about what he calls predatory recruiting.

3. Military Recruiters are Annoying...
They don't help the schools in any way. They walk in on classes and bother students and teachers. I received a phone call from a Recruiter for about 4 months at 5:00am everyday. Waking me up in the middle of my sleep even though I didn't need to get up for school until 7:00am.

By Billdo's standards, Christianne Amanpour has far more "combat experience."

and one of my neighbors died on 9/11. But unlike O'Really I'm not a stupid moron so I know that IRAQ HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH 9/11.

Oh, and as far as him not backing down for inviting terrorists to 'bring it on in San Francisco', I remember him saying he was not going to be 'bullied by a woman claiming he had sexually harrassed her'. No, tough guy O'Reilly was going to do what wimpy liberals wound NEVER do, he was going to fight this all the way to the SC, if necessary'. Well, we all know what happened to that tough talk!!

I'll give him a week before he backs down ~

And someone send that man some recruitment forms. Bush is so desperate, he's sending grandmothers over there, other people's grandmothers, of course. I don't know why it is so difficult to get recruits when we have all these uber patriots all over the place.

Chickenhawks, you have to love them ~ they feel like such tough guys sending other people's kids to fight in wars they love but won't fight in themselves. There must be a name for that condition.

32. O'Reilly's "Long Island" went totally Blue for the 1st time in a 100yrs
the Democrats now control both the Nassau and Suffolk county executive seats, and both legislatures. Funny I've never heard O'Reily mention that once. NY told bush where to go on election day..we had no illusions about him "protecting us" Especially not with plastic and duct tape...the dumbass. Neither did any of the other states most effected by 9/11..they all voted against bush.

As a NY'er I dont know where he gets the gall to speak for any of us who lost loved ones on 9/11. And I support the soldiers, but they didn't help us on 9/11...they were in a "Stand Down mode". Was the worst feeling in the world to wait for help that never came. We relied on the NYPD & the FDNY and the "thanks" they got was having to wait years for a decent raise & closed firehouses...O'Reilly never went out of his way to help them either.

Its been almost 5 years...No Bin Laden. No Anthrax Killer, either. The people that hurt us are free. While we waste lives & money in Iraq..a country that had nothing to do with 9/11. And I dont know about Oreilly but after 9/11 the horror of being attacked has left many of us with the feeling of not wanting to do the same to innocent people.

While people in this city had to regroup, mourn our loses, find the courage to get back to a "normal life" not knowing what was going to blow up next , dealing with the anthrax threats, this crybaby had all the protection in the world, no mass transit for him..a chauffer driven limo, and all the protection you could ask for at work. And he had the nerve to tell the son of a 9/11 victim who didnt support this stupid war in Iraq....to "Shut Up..You cant speak for your father".

Well you, you masterbating pervert..you dont speak for us. In the words of your buddy dick cheney "fuck you"

Lets "Sinclair" this sucker!

42. if one of us said something like that and homeland security showed up
we'd be screaming bloody murder about the First Amendment. Well, fact is that O'Reilly, idiot asshole that he is, has the same First Amendment rights. Claims that he was "promoting terrorism" are crap. He was engaging in the same hyperbolic bs he always does. And frankly, the more he does it, the better off we are since it exposes him for the jerkwad that he is. Same goes for Robertson -- each time he opens his mouth he loses credibility (okay, in Robertson's case he probably lost all credibility some time ago).

113. Sorry but I think you are off base on that.
Certainly millitary intelegence cowordinating better with the CIA would be part of any prevention.

The air force is widely blamed for not responding as they are suposed to (and routinely DO) when planes are suspected to have been hijacked. That could have reduced the death toll by a LOT.

Overseas millitary operations that are ACTUALY AIMED AT Al Quieda (like that will ever happen) could definately have an impact on such terrorism, even if they were only capturing operatives for trial etc.

The armed forces includes the coast guard.

Sorry but all in all I think they could have played a part in preventing a terror attack.

Stop trying to make yourself relevant, Billy. . .you are just a bag of hot air in search of another female assistant to sexually harass.

Edited on Sat Nov-12-05 01:56 PM by SomewhereOutThere424
And to people politicizing 9/11 like o'reilly, he says STFU. So what if some NYC scumbag thinks he owns the right to 9/11 because people died near him? I think it's total bullshit the people who were victimized in it/victimized through the rescue work (as there's some pretty gruesome shit they all saw) should have to deal with people like o'reilly. We prevented movies and television talking about 9/11 after the disaster? Nueter bastards like this and make THEM shut up about it. It's fair after all, why don't they cry about asses like him?

I grew up ten years in long island, now live in the state of new york, and feel I have every right to discuss 9/11 too. So I'll mention it in this context: "Those who so boldly wish they could be a part of a disaster, should consider a corpse's place in juxtaposition before claiming it."

When the Republicans were rightly compared to Nazis, the media jumped all over it and just wouldn't let it go. What do they have to say about this--(?)--not a goddamm thing. And what about that fucking looney, Pat Robertson? close to nothing-- but of course, he's a "leading religious leader" in this country, so we may as well rim him really good and make him squeal with pleasure. The Coit Tower is a memorial to volunteer firemen. This should be pointed out loudly and continuously. Bill O'Reilly has invited al Qaeda to blow up a monument to volunteer firemen. Firemen should be protesting Faux news and San Francisco cable TV companies should shut it off and demand his removal. (I know that last part is wishful thinking, but wouldn't it be great?)

"While the FBI continues to encourage the public to submit information regarding the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, this form may also be used to report any suspected criminal activity to the FBI."

https://tips.fbi.gov

Also: (OP)

" he (O'Lie-ly) said San Francisco should not get a nickel of federal funds."

So, apparently, what that whining terrorist threatener implies is that either there are NO taxpayers in Frisco so they don't deserve any protection from the military whatsoever, or the other way around: Taxpayers in SF should get special tax cuts because they shouldn't have to pay for services from the military since they'd not be protected anymore, so why should they have to pay?

hurt O'Rielly in the least, it's ok to rant and rave and get it out of your system. San Fransisco is such an easy target for the right. Rife with liberals and homosexuals, it's probably impossible for the likes of O'Reilly to go to far; to make such an extreme statement that their denunciations might actually engender sympathy amungst his audience. Even if he apologizes the act will still be made to serve his own purpose. The only way to win in this situation is if he can be silenced - does anyone think that is going to happen?

Why do people even listen to this festering pus wart? When you give him attention you're playing right into his hands. Let's just ignore the ignorant fuck and maybe he'll disappear. His show is tanking and he's going to make the most outrageous, stupid remarks possible to get his name on people's lips again. Like all small minded and small hung men he shoots his mouth off just to make noise. My Dad always used to say that a hollow drum made the most noise. In O'Lielly's case this is most certainly true.

Funny, a lot of guys who fit that description

- 1967 - went straight to Vietnam. Not our Bill

Go to http://www.bethemedia.org to file an Informal Objection to Clear Channel’s radio station license renewal for KNEW-910AM – the station that broadcasts Michael Savage and Bill O’Reilly in San Francisco.

For convenience, I created some boilerplate ‘informal objections’ for people to send in to the FCC, specifically regarding Bill O’Reilly’s anti-American hate speech.

However, these need to be filed BEFORE DECEMBER 1, 2005.
