Saddam Trial Lawyers Shot
Updated: 12:57, Tuesday November 08, 2005
Two lawyers representing a co-defendant of the deposed Iraq leader Saddam Hussein have been shot in Baghdad.

Iraqi police say one was killed in the attack.

The attack followed the murder of another defence lawyer in the team, Saadoun al Janabi, who was shot the day after the trial started in Baghdad last month.

1. Can't the U.S. find another way to fix Saddam's trial other than killing
his lawyers?

7. Saddam lawyer killed
THE lawyer for one of Saddam Hussein’s co-defendants has been assassinated in Baghdad.

Adel al-Zubeidi, who was representing the former Iraqi vice president, Taha Yassin Ramadan, was killed and another lawyer was injured in an ambush in western Baghdad today.

Last month, Saadoun al-Janabi, lawyer for co-defendant Awad al-Bandar, was abducted from his office by 10 masked gunmen.

His body was found hours later on a pavement near a mosque in eastern Baghdad.

19. Refresh my memory
Wasnt the first legal proceeding against Saddam, halted when the judge himself was charged with murder?
That judge, coincidentally (insert sarcasm emoticon here), was Chalabi's nephew.
That was at about the same time as Chalabi's first fall from grace with the Whitehouse, when he was found to have shared secrets with Iran. Am I the only citizen who recalls news footage of Chalabi having his computers taken away by coalition troops?

And what ever became of Chalabi's nephew the accused murderer?
Was he tried?
Is he being wined and dined at Cheney's house like his Uncle Chalabi is?

20. He fled to the UK.
No extradition of an accused murderer in the UK?

What purpose does it serve to kill these defense lawyers for any side of this situation?

23. Just goes to show that the BFEE is a far greater danger
than Saddam ever was! I still claim (from the day they 'found' him in a rathole) Saddam will die before any verdict is reached.
