Bush's Approval Rating Drops to 39 Percent in Zogby Poll

Nov. 3 (Bloomberg) -- President George W. Bush's job approval rating fell to 39 percent, the lowest number since he took office, in a Zogby International poll taken after the indictment of an administration adviser in the CIA leak case and the withdrawal of another aide as a Supreme Court nominee.

The number is down from two weeks ago, when 45 percent of U.S. adults said they approved of the job Bush was doing. Public approval of Bush's leadership had been on the rebound since hitting a low after criticism of the government's slow reaction to Hurricane Katrina in the first week of September.

``The 39 percent job performance is the lowest we have registered so far for Mr. Bush,'' pollster John Zogby said in a statement. ``Behind those numbers are some troubling trends for his party.''

The approval rating number is in line with other recent polls by USA Today/CNN/Gallup, the Washington Post/ABC News

Like father, like son.

Or is it... like Nixon, like W? b/c Nixon got down to the 20s, and I think W will be there before long.

3. His approval is 38% at SurveyUSA.
Why is this news? We all know he's tanking fast. He's slowly getting to his hardcore freeptard base as his only support, since he's alienated every person and every voter not a neo-con retard.

I see the bad Ship Bushipop sinking fast!!!

6. but what is the point?
I am as happy as any here that his poll numbers are down - but so what?? the asshole is there for 3 more years if his numbers get to 0% (like they are with the AA community - that is African-American not Alcoholics Anonymous:toast: )

does anyone on this board seriously believe when they hit a magic number of unpopularity * will resign?

8. Bushshit.
It's more like 5%.

How can it drop to 39%. Everyweek it says it dropped to 39%. When the hell did it go up?

If it drops every week to 39%, he would be in the negative right. He is with black voters.

13. "Dropped to 39 %" -- meaning in this particular poll.
Zogby's never had him this low.

It does sound redundant when we keep hearing: "reached a new low of 39 %"

11. The lower he goes, the less weight he pulls
If he's in the 30s at this time next year, the GOP will be in total dissaray on election day.

18. No, he's still president, BUT
now we start to scare the shit out of congressmen, now we start to tell the true believers that they can't simply write us off as crazed minorities, now we get traction.

The argument I make is that Congress has to nail Bush's shoes to the floor. Some call it oversight. If bush is unpopular, he can be reined in and controlled to minimize damage.

10. So next week
When zogby says it DOWN!

To 39%.

If your at the same number, you can't go down. You'll flunk any math test in the US trying to claim decreasing numbers with the same number.

Sorry but these polls need to get their shit together. Bush was down that low before Katrina.

His approval rating has to be down there with a husband caught cheating with the babysister by the wife.. That and Robert Blake, OJ Simpsons, R. Kelly, Michael Jackson, Charles Manson. Add Bush's reputation to the motley crew of POS for human beings.

14. He had started a bounce in the Zogby Polls...
...which Libby deflated with the indictment.

Remember each poll references only itself. This is a new low for ZOGBY not the lowest poll out there...

22. He hasn't. But he should. And he won't.
I would love to see what the answer to THAT question would be. I'm pretty sure it would be in the range of 60%-70%, if not greater.

23. I know. I just like to pose ridiculous questions...
now and again. I actually emailed him about it a month ago or so. I used his website and everything, but the email was rejected. I got the impression that he'd already taken a LOT of flack from somewhere for even asking the question in the first place.

24. Whoops - spoke too soon: Zogby DID ask...
Here's the link:

http://rawstory.com/news/2005/Zogby_Americans_support_consideration_of_impeachment_1104.html

A new poll of likely voters by Zogby International has found that a majority of Americans support Congress considering the impeachment of President Bush if he “did not tell the truth about his reasons for going to war with Iraq,” RAW STORY has learned.

The poll, to be released this afternoon, finds that 51 percent of likely voters want Congress to eye impeachment, while 45 percent do not. It was commissioned by AfterDowningStreet.org, a coalition of progressive groups seeking a Congressional investigation of the events leading up to war in Iraq.

There you have it. Kudos to Zogby.

21. zogby has stated
that he adds up to 6% for repub causes because they will show up and vote. This could mean a few more weeks of bush-isms & we might start seeing the 20's it also means that we Dems need to start showing up so we can be listen to.
