Bolton pushes for new Syria resolution
http://english.aljazeera.net/NR/exeres/8E25C627-F92F-4690-A0E2-CA7FFE809146.htm

US Ambassador John Bolton has said he wants another UN resolution forcing Syria to withdraw any intelligence agents it keeps in Lebanon.

"We certainly see a resolution that continued to push for full implementation of 1559," Bolton said, referring to the measure adopted in September 2004 demanding the withdrawal of foreign forces from Lebanon and the disbanding of militia.

He said such a resolution would not be drawn up for several weeks. "The conclusion of 1559 that Lebanon should be restored to full sovereignty and territorial integrity has not been met," he said.

Russia and other Security Council members have indicated they are unwilling to support further action

7. And everyone knows it but the U.S.
We dovish ones know what the plan is but are unable to make our voices heard. We just have anxiety attacks and live in fear - now that is funny - bush tries to keep us scared yet some of us are totally afraid of him. And why was there no real uproar over bush plunking bolton down in the U.N. without approval from congress?

6. Why should anyone at the UN listen to this idiot?
Seriously. Can't they just turn his microphone off? Who the f--- cares what he says?

Note to the UN: This man is a criminal and an overall a$$clown, possessed of a ridiculous mustache. And yes, the majority of this great United States KNOWS what an embarrassment he is. So nations of the world, please, PLEASE don't hold him against us. We feel your pain.

10. Isn't he, though?
We're going to fuck everyone who stands in the way of Israel and us in the Middle East. No, that's not a misspeak, the PNACers are more beholden to Israel than to the human race and certainly to the United States.

Much as they'd love to smash Iran, they simply haven't the means. Syria, on the other hand, is much easier. Yum.

Obsession is the hallmark of these assholes; they've long since made up their minds about what they want to do, and the only efforts spent are those to find ways to justify their ends.

Neutered as we are to attack Iran, the Israeli Defense Force is right there and ready to whup some Syrian ass.

There is not enough world to conquer to slake the vicious hunger of the neocons. Count on them to keep trying, though.

12. Syria is a sure bet
We have all those permanent bases in Iraq where US troops can hole up, time to abandon all areas not directly involved
in making money or serving Israel and move a shit load of troops into Syria.
They are going to do it.
I would bet anything.

Adage: good generals think of strategy; great generals think of logtistics
We're in Iraq until the last drop of oil is sucked out of the sand. We'll be there even longer if Israel needs to be protected, which it will.

How does one supply Iraq if one doesn't have Syria? Jordan might be the way, but we'll have to brutally crush a country that's been pretty mild of late. Turkey isn't reliable. It's not even close to reliable. This leaves two routes: through the Persian Gulf, or through Syria.

The PNAC will take great glee in stomping Syria.

... for having no shame? Or no shred of common sense or decency...

These recess appointments should be "at will" employment with a 90-day probationary period. That's as good as anyone else is getting, these days.

24. It might really be about Lebanon.
Far be it from me to take a PNACer at face value, but what if this is really about "liberating" Lebanon?

It's a nice place, strategically positioned on the Med. It could probably make room for three to five brigades of U.S. troops, all nice and snuggled up at the foot of the boss.

And it has a small minority of Christians, too. That could be expanded if Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell called for a new Children's Crusade to liberate Antioch.

Okay, maybe that last paragraph has some fantasy in it. But seriously, this is turning out to be one hell of a fucked up century. It could happen.

The man is a menace to world peace. Nonetheless, he is a mere representive of the fascist regime behind him.
