Jury acquits Bush protestor.
GREELEY, Colo. (AP) - A Weld County jury today acquitted a man of charges that resulted after he protested a rally for President Bush last year.

Michael McCarthy was charged with harassment and resisting arrest during the rally in Greeley.

Deputy Sheriff John Tucker had testified that McCarthy struck him on the head with a paper sign that said "Veterans For Kerry and Edwards."

But other witnesses disagreed on whether McCarthy hit Tucker.

4. Is there any doubt?
I don't think any research is needed.

Weld County Sheriff John B Cooke was listed as a guest at a Republican County mtg.

This article Badges: Memento or 'tarnished symbol'?

SHERIFF JOHN COOKE explained how the special Weld County Sheriff's Office badge with the words "Presidential Security Detail" and "George W. Bush" on it was intended to be a "memento" for those officers willing to pay $65 for it. He also said the badge "was not political" and cannot be worn past July 4. His motives may have been honorable, but they prompt some further comments and questions.

While officers may not have been overtly pressured into purchasing these badges, I suspect Sheriff Cooke will tuck into the back of his mind who did and who did not purchase them. Also, it will be fairly obvious who is and who is not wearing this special badge on his or her uniform. So, however slight, the badge can be an item that divides the true believers from the infidels.

STRONGLY suggests that it is Republican.

He endorsed the Republican candidate for District Attorney

6. Victory for the First Amendment.....kinda
Now what this guy needs to do is sue Bush himself for violating his civil rights--and empty his wallet, so Bush can get a taste of how it feels to live like a pauper!
