EU-US relations 'at lowest ebb'

RELATIONS between the European Union and the United States are at their lowest ebb for at least a generation and both sides need to renew efforts to repair the relationship, a group of MPs says in a report released today.
The House of Lords committee, made up of MPs from all political parties, expresses concern that some legislators in the United States had an attitude of, "If you agree with us - fine. If you don't - then get out of our way."
Lord Jopling, the opposition Conservative Party MP leading the committee, said that global security, stability and development depended on good relations between the EU and America.
"Both sides will be losers if the relationship stays bad," Jopling said. more....
