Two US soldiers killed in Iraq

Two United States Army soldiers died of wounds sustained during an offensive in western Iraq, the military said today.

The soldiers, assigned to Regimental Combat Team 2, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward), were hit by small arms fire while conducting combat operations during the offensive against insurgents near the city of Haqlaniyah on Friday, the military said.

The River Gate offensive was one of two US and Iraqi offensives under way in Anbar Province, a Sunni-led insurgency stronghold that stretches along the Euphrates River Valley from the Syrian border to the city of Ramadi, 70 miles west of Baghdad.

1. This is sad. So very very sad. These two Americans died to line the
pockets of the bush** administration and corporate America.

Having said that, what else is there to say? No one, outside of here of course, is paying a damn bit of attention to the casualty figures. No one is giving any thought to how many wounded are evacuted each week. No on is concerned with the reality of PSTD that thousands, and I mean thousands will suffer after leaving the military.

KKKarl's indictment and Bill Bennett's racism and bush**s corrupt administration are all major concerns. But in all the latest news about indictments etc., these poor dead Americans are being ignored. Their lives end and the outrage and fury that we as human beings should be feeling, just doesn't register.

It's a wonder that Cindy Sheehan even feels it's worth trying to get through to this brain dead cold-blooded 'as long as it doesn't affect me I don't care' populace.

9. Cindy is making a difference and so are you!
Let's not forget that Bush's approval rating are now at 37% and only 26% of the people believe the nation is heading in the right direction.

Moreover, an solid majority of people now believe the Iraq war was wrong and not worth it.

Even "Mr. Freedom Fried Jones" of North Carolina has changed his tune and now wants the troops home.

Our efforts are making a difference, but we've got to keep up the pressure to get our guys home ASAP.

Americans are paying attention: Recruiting for the military is down despite all of the gimmicks to hook our kids.

I don't know how many countries are left in the 'Coalition of the Willing' but its in decline.

We are not powerless.

We are making a difference.

We will get the troops home.

4. Sure looks like almost nobody cares about this (nation wide)
I really don't understand how that can be.

6. I care, but many don't care
I think this is because many do not bother to read the news or keep up with the news being it is so very depressing.

To those that just died in this ugly war (and all wars), I hope you RIP.

:kick:

8. Back when Iraq made the news

the MSM used to put up these little graphics with the total KIA since the beginning of the war (or since Chimpy McFlightsuit's "major operations are over" message). We don't EVER see these numbers anymore in the MSM, and there is very little "live from Baghdad" coverage or anything else... except pronouncements from BushCo about "progress is being made"). I know that they are now covering some of the Buchco scandals... but the war reporting has simply dried up.

Or is it just me?
