Iraq: Limited French, German Aid 'Regrettable'-CNN
(sorry…no link yet)

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--A top Iraqi official attending an international
conference in Madrid on raising funds to rebuild Iraq warned that France's and
Germany's limited donations, which he termed "regrettable," wouldn't be
forgotten, the Cable News Network reported on its Web site Thursday.
Ayad Allawi, the current head of Iraq's U.S.-appointed governing council, said
he hoped German and French officials would reconsider their decision not to
boost their contributions beyond funds already pledged through the European
Union, the report said.
"As far as Germany and France are concerned, really, this was a regrettable
position they had," Allawi said, according to CNN.
"I don't think the Iraqis are going to forget easily that in the hour of need,
those countries wanted to neglect Iraq," Allawai said, according to the report.

and then his voice fell off as he was unable to decipher the rest of what his puppeteer was instructing him to say

1. Now the whole world owes Iraq something?
Give me a break! Germany and France gave at the office (through the EU). I guess everyone is supposed to just open up their pocketbooks because the idiot in chief decided to bomb Iraq.

2. France and Germany
They should tell the little Iraqi puppet to check with Bremer. It sounds like he's siphoned off about $4 billion. Maybe he can give the puppet council an advance on their allowance after the begging conference is over.

5. This guy would probably be lynched in the middle of Baghdad
If the army which props him up wasn't there to protect the "Arab facade" which he is a part of.

Basically, replace "Iraqis", with "PNAC", and you have the real story.

Fears over Iraq aid shortfall

Concerns are mounting that a major conference to raise money for the reconstruction of Iraq may fall far short of the $36bn sought by Washington.
"Nobody for a moment thinks that we're going to see pledges of $36bn. What everybody hopes is that we'll see pledges which meet what Iraq could spend," Chris Patten the EU commissioner for external affairs told the BBC.
More than 70 countries and multilateral organisations are attending the two-day meeting in Madrid, Spain, which has the strong backing of the US.
Pledges from countries and international donors are due to be made public on Friday.

For decades, the BBC has been a traditional source of news and informations for people living in countries depived of a free and independent press. That is why this Bush-era American turns to the BBC Online.

those countries wanted to neglect Iraq," Be sure and act real indignant.

13. If I were Iraqi, I wouldn't forget that France and Germany
tried to keep Bush from killing thousands of my countrymen. But of course those in power care nothing for life and everything for money.
